Anyone else finding International membership a total rort this year? $215 for the exact same (except access to one game) perks as an armchair membership gets for $72. Double the price of last year and that included access to the watch afl app. Now if you want that it's $400! MFC trying to pull one over on all the expats.

I don't mind giving money to the club. But that price is just stupid money in comparison to other memberships.

I thought the same, the wording of the package is misleading. The club advised the $215 INCLUDES the $185 watchafl subscription.

My Whinge - As an international relying on the club for info / content / engagement, the online media element really needs to lift when you compare it to other leagues fan engagement (prem league, NBA etc.). I suspect the media rights of Telstra (web) and broadcast rights (replays, condensed highlights, analysis etc) heavily restrict the club here - but, it's still pretty disappointing. Not just internationals, but if the club wants to reach new fans in a younger age bracket this area needs drastic improvement.

This is correct. The $185 is for any other membership package.

I joined up early and it was only $200.

I think it's great value, this year watchAFL has Fox Footy channel live streaming 24/7. So now can watch all fox footy shows, all live games and support the club I love for $200.

Watch AFL is $185 by itself, I would have paid $300

Do you *have* to get international membership, or can you just get the armchair one if you're happy to forgo the watchAFL subscription and they are otherwise the same?

I imagine that if you put that proposition to the club via an email that they'd be happy with it - I can't see them saying "no thanks" to a club supporter waving money at them.

Up until last year, the international streaming was separate. I was taking that plus an armchair membership, just to be a member.

You can still do the two separately, but I was under the impression that it was cheaper to do International + WatchAfl through the club.

The quality or otherwise of the streaming content has been largely covered in the Live Pass thread. Everyone accepts that the AFL + Internet is nowhere close to being what it could and should be, and mailing MFC to remind them is to be encouraged. Though I think they're only too aware of it ...

AFL Live pass and Watch AFL are two different platforms, Watch AFL is actually rather good quality, I know several pubs in Asia who broadcast it on multiple big screens at once and it is great quality. When I watch it hooked up to my TV it is a better quality than Aus Plus Network. That and now receiving full Fox Footy coverage I'm very pleased with price and service.

The picture quality on the Aus Plus network is woeful. Another fail for non core broadcasting

NRL is top quality so it can be done

NRL is on Setanta, not really the AFL's fault.

Wait.  Since when is there an international membership option!?

Here I am buying an Interstate membership + WatchAFL pass like a sucker!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
