Melksham and Hibberd both here. Trac showing no signs of those Bin Tangs. Stretch looks like he has been in the gym since last round and hasn't left there. Can't see Oliver anywhere but no other noticeable 1-4 year absentees without checking the list. TMac and Viney also here of those not required.

Am I right in saying the guys who played in the VFL finals get a few more weeks off due to their longer season..?

You're not Titus O'Reilly are you? Tweeted this at 11.03 am today:

A lot of AFL teams commencing pre-season training today. All across the country, you can hear houses being trained down.

Guess you can call him what you will ;)

I hate to spoil your day but you did not get Pole position.

It pays to read the thread from the start.

.Now come on, it's not Poll Position it's Pole Position, like Pole Dancing - not something to get confused about:

Now...back to the training. Whose flattened the house today?

I attended today and it's fair to say that it was a low key session. The former Dons ran hard with Hibberd looking in good nick. Tom McDonald led them through several full lap runs. In the 7 minute run the two recruits, Maynard and McKenna shone, with Hogan the only one that challenged them. Mitch King was able to do quite a bit of the leading and passing routine. He looks more athletic and a better kick than his recently delisted namesake

Really pleased that he's progressed that far since last year's mishap.

Without knowing for sure that would make sense as ANB not there as well. Hogan looked seriously lean in a good way. Was getting across the turf beautifully. Wagner the other that stood out for me. Maynard has some serious size on him and did not look out of place skills wise. Was very much a loosener of a session to get the legs moving and some touch. Goodwin alot more hands on with players than I had seen from Roos in prior years. Lots of getting around to each player, quick chat pat on back and move on.

My report  had a chat to all the wounded

VDB ankle cleaned out, just getting back into it, not too far off

Mitch King, he and medical/fitness staff really pleased with his progress

Jack Viney, hip is fine, again making progess to full fitness

JKH hamstrings are fine, has daily program to build his core

Tommy Mc, who came disguised as Dante Exum, shoulder progressing, on schedule

That's good to hear.  Thought he looked a bit too bulky last year, similar to Patton in some ways.

Thanks Satyr. But, in the immortal words of Pauline, "Please explain": how on earth did Tommy Mc come disguised as Dante Exum? If you're being literal, I can't imagine how. And if you're somehow referencing something else, please let me in on the joke.

Interesting drill that I have never seen before    passing soccer balls, using both feet

Spoke to Benny Mathews, a good sign all had come back ready to go

Spoke to Goody also, excited particularly about what both Hibberd and Lewis can bring to the group

Hogan is in great shape, so is Nev Jetta

Missing were the young guys who had played the whole Casey finals campaign Weed Hulett White Smith ANB Oliver

Hopefully it means he will be spending more time up the ground.

Thought from the pictures Omac looked to still be rake thin. Hopefully he puts on some weight over this preseason, or he'll have the same issue as his brother against the big forwards

I am eager to hear/read how Milkshake & Hibbo (60's crime show!?) will go coming to a new club with different training practises after a year of sub-standard training.

Dont worry AzzKika.  Im sure they'll work it out.  Its only football.  See the ball, get the ball, handball it, kick it, smash someone, get smashed by someone, get up, go and get it again, be on time, eat your vegies, get a beanie with a pom pom on top, buy a Nena Pasadena shirt...

For some reason Tommy Mc didn't turn up in MFC gear was dressed as Dante Exum in Utah Jazz basketball gear

Had a laugh with the 2 media guys from the club,  had to try and not get him in shot for 'official' photos, I put a photo of him on Instagram or Twitter   Demonpk

They both fitted in seamlessly, they were in rehab group working their way back in, Goodwin had a good chat to them before they left training, Hibberd up close is a solid unit, think he will enjoy the smash bit, cool photo as well

Omac was certainly no smaller and looked more defined. I suspect he will take  similar trajectory of build development that T-Mac has taken. I would not expect too much change this year.

From what I can gather from talking to the players,  off season they are told to stay away from the weights, assume for safety, supervision and proper instruction, so  we will see Omac 'grow' during pre season

Always find it hilarious we find somebody who weighs in at 93 or 94kgs as skinny, all relative I suppose

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
