With this influx of seasoned players those on the fringe e.g. Trenners, Newton, Michie, ANB, Bugg, Kennedy, Harmes, Wagner are going to have to strut their stuff in the preseason to get a look in.

Which I personally think will be a great thing

at least half of those guys (take your pick) would be best 22 in plenty of teams. We are going to be able to trade into next years draft quite nicely

Not having that problem has been our problem in the past ?

Completely disagree, mate. Most of them wouldn't get a look in most places. But that means we've made strides.

Young warroir, please make it true. I have been reading for a long time,  regrettably I didn't have the confidence in my IT ability to post until recently. Some of you probably have fathers like me that need help finding the mouse button and technical stuff like that. I will say though that even though a lot of you say things that don't make much sense I don't care. I love all of it and I know all of your hearts beat true. You keep posting, I will keep reading (and post occasionally) and we will all see the Demons prosper.

Welcome, Tram!

When everything on D'land starts to make sense, then you're in real trouble!

I reckon Harmes, Kennedy and Bugg would walk right into Freo, GC, Richmond, Brisbane best 22 with ease

A number of them won't have a pre season.

I don't want to take anything away from Clarkson because he has revolutionised coaching like other greats have done in the past, but it really looks like the presence of Fagan is being sorely missed. Hawthorn have not made these kinds of player and planning errors in a decade or more. Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere and I missed it but this is lookong so much like Brisbane in Voss' first or second year. An absolute operational basket case. And I am so glad it is not us.

Is this it;  or is it that they have realised the whorethorn ship is ageing & listing; & they proverbially are abandoning ship.  Leaving Clarkson by his lonesome?

The involvement of "Integrity" Pickering means that anything is possible. Don't count your chickens. With "My Word Is My Bond" Pickering for a manager, Lewis is just as likely end up playing rugby in France.

The only sure thing in this trade is that it's going to get dark at night, and the sun's going to come up in the morning.

LOL

Lewis isnt conaidering his future. Multiple sources say he told the club on Friday he wanted to be traded to Melbourne.

Zanotti files reports this year's second rounder for Rockcliff, next years for Hibberd and third rounder for Lewis.

Considering a player sponsor claimed MFC had no interest in Rockcliff it sounds like we very much do.

Now that would be an unbelievable deal

The weekend could not have come at a worse time. It allows for an extended re-thinking time for Lewis who may reflect on just how good the green grass has been at Hawthorn, and decide to stay. The longer the time lapse on Monday befofe we hear a decision, the more likley he is to be staying at the Hawks.

The weekend has come right after Friday, as it has always done.  Even Jordan Lewis can't alter that

Very interesting viewing at the 13th minute of this when the panel start talking trade period.

The look on Lewis' face! I know this was filmed pre Brownlow but I'm convinced he must have been thinking of moving on at that point.

Do you think Gerard knew too, hence posing a very provocative question?

Hope his shoulder injury isn't something that will interfere with his 'mongrelness'

Well if I was CEO of the AFL it would be run a lot better and fairer.

As far as Hunt goes, he is seen by the Dees as a future top player for us.

He is not going anywhere.

I will vote for you if you give us some decent prime time fixturing, and no home games at Doglands especially against teams whose home ground that soulless place is.

Ok then , no games at Docklands, all 22 at the G, but will be away team at least 3 times. Free beer and chips to all Dees fans. guaranteed finals if win 10 games, guaranteed GF if win one final and flag if get within 10 goals of the other side.

I am your leader, follow me to the promised land of multiple premierships.

Two comments:

1/- if this happens, I suspect HFC is rewarding Lewis for years of loyal service and the winning of multiple premierships.  Just like Mitchell.

2/- Lewis will add some much neede mongrel to the midfield because I don't think he ever takes a backward step.  It will take some pressure off of Jones and provide sone protection fo r our young blokes.

Fingers crossed.

It's amazing people are questioning where Lewis fits in our best 22.

He finished 2nd in the B n F of a side who finished the regular season in 3rd spot and missed a prelim final by a kick. He's played in 5 grand finals and won 4 of them, while also winning a B n F in a premiership year and also getting All Australian honours.

I will tell you where in the best 22 he will be, most likely in the first 5 picked.

everyone on the radio seems convince this is a done deal.  if we only have to give up a third rounder, what a deal!   hopefully the third year of the deal is performance based

Love that lewis is chosing us and coming for less money then he was offered at GCS.  shows he has the hunger and wants to win a flag with us and not just come for a pension

man its weird being proud of your club.  is this what happiness feels like?

Hopefully we can get this done today, to focus on Hibberd today/tomorrow. Then spend the last day and half on any random deals, like Rockliff, etc.
