Wonder if the MFC are in the running for Michael Barlow.. would be a very good pick up IMHO

I would love him with us. Best value midfielder in the market at the moment. I suspect though he may have been steak knives in a possible stalled Hogan deal.

I said possible. I am suspecting talks have happened between the clubs. Problem is that Freo have little to offer and likely won't trade their big names. So it may be stalled or not.

I think you're jumping at shadows.

Dee's have been interested in Barlow since middle of the year and have been in dialogue with his management since.

All indications point to him being at the Dee's next year.  Having said that anything can happen in trade week.  I mean who would have thought Wells would have been offered a three year deal at his age and with his history of injuries.

My guess is that talkes have taken place as well.

Agree with you America, Freo currently has little to give up in the way of picks.  Can't trade 2017 first round at this point.

Also bet that they are not wanting to part with Neal, Fyfe etc etc.

Let's hope it's not a Trojan horse. Barlow getting close to Jesse and convincing him to go back to WA.

How many years are we offering Flamo? Interesting what role he'll play next year due to our stack of inside Mids.

But after watching Cripps monster us at the G i am all for Barlow. His experience and strength is needed.

Actually it's the other way. Barlow is going to tell Jesse how much the flying has hurt his back and affected his rehab after games, not to mention the wasted time involved in flying and getting to and from airports and sleeping in strange hotel beds, every second week of the footy season.

He will also tell him that he fears it has shortened his footy career.

I'd much prefer your interpretation.

Also that Lyon is an absolute nightmare play under...

Oh thanks. I guess that's a bonus.

We will have to trade however.

Yep, 1 year short of free agency, but it's likely Goody would have taken on Roos' thoughts on trading out/in players 1 year before free agency eligibility.

Yep, we're absolutely higher up the pecking order now than a few year ago. As for definitions etc, we probably got a bit away from the original point I was arguing against which was a poster saying we were now the 3rd highest "destination club" behind Geelong and Hawthorn.

You create arguments out of thin air. This would possibly be stimulating if your posts weren't so thoroughly inane and misguided.

Because saying we're the 3rd most sought after "destination club" after Geelong and Hawthorn isn't misguided at all...

Hey Stuie, just because someone else has an opinion you don't agree with doesn't make them misguided or even wrong.

There can actually be many opinions or viewpoints on a topic and value in just exploring them rather than seeing them as an attack on our own sense of righteousness...

Nuh.

Suggested trade would be: Dunn to Brisbane, Brisbane third rounder to Fremantle, Barlow to Melbourne.

That would be a very good outcome for us.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best.
