Is there a single team in the 8 who is actually good?

Sydney have looked very good but they've had some howlers along the way. Losing to Richmond after the siren was embarrassing, as was that other game they lost in the dying seconds (forget who they were playing). Brisbane nearly toppled them as well, so they're inconsistent.

Not a great day to be inconsistent though, if they give up top spot on the ladder due to Norf they'll never live it down.

You can never rely on other sides losing

Exactly, it's a bit Richmond-esque to fall into finals off the back of other teams losing. Disappointed if North gets up today, but Sydney will rue the loss more than we will. Could cost them a premiership if they throw away a home final in the top 4.

Seriously, why is it at the Olympics I can see the sweat on an athletes eyelash on the replay, but on afl the all important score review cameras are as clear as mud. Like if you are going to employ technology, try googling cameras ffs.

A very average/lucky team is going to win the Grand Final this year.  While the season's been even and exciting, there isn't the high quality team or two that we've enjoyed watching for the last ten years.

Someone's gonna get lucky.

I'd much rather an even and exciting home and away season, finals series and GF than any of those dominated by a dominant Hawthorn, or Geelong, or Brisbane, etc.

There has still been high quality football played this year by each member of the top 8 (except North).

Hope the Tigers beat the Saints.

Saints can mathematically still make the finals, even though its not being taken seriously.  All they need is to win the next two by big margins (vs Tigers, Lions), and North to lose both by big margins (vs Sydney, GWS) and for us to lose one of the next two.

If they [censored] the Tigers today by a huge margin they will be up and about ...shudder.

St Kilda is -155 in points for vs against, meaning they would have two win their two games by a joint margin of 155 to get their percentage back to 100.

North's points differential is 143 so they would have to lose both games by a joint margin of 143 to get their percentage down to 100.

Long story short, those are not good odds for St Kilda, the more so given the two margins in the two games so far are 12 and 23.

Yes, rather predictably Norf have turned today's game into a low-scoring piece of [censored] scrap, to prevent any bleeding of their percentage. They know they'll probably lose both games, so they'll keep the margin as shallow as they possibly can.

Christ I despite Norf.

They're not that clever, they're just rubbish.

Been watching a bit of the Richmond/St Kilda game with a Tiges mate.

I know this gets said a bit but this one would have to be the worst exhibition (I use the word loosely) of football I've ever seen played by supposed AFL teams...

There are not only turnovers but triple and quadruple turnovers...how did the Saints ever beat us???

Saints are rubbish outside of Etihad, and we played them there twice. If one of those games had been at the G (and not after the NT game) I'm confident about the outcome.

At the Tigers vs Saints game at the moment with a mate. Richmond just quite possibly played the worst half of any team that I've seen this year. Saints aren't looking too flash either.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
