They'll let the great leader that is Chris Dawes redeem himself with another Joe-the-goose goal and then proceed to drop everything kicked to him. But he works hard. All that running after his opponent when they're running off him.

Keep him on the list for next year, but don't play him. Get Pedersen back in or blood someone like Hulett. Or simply play a smaller forwardline.

He kicked his first set shot goal in I don't know how long and a Joe-the-goose. Apart from that he did bugger all. And when the game was in the balance in the last quarter, instead of passing to the top of the goal square to a free team mate, he decided to blast away and kick it on the full.

So you want to drop Dawes but play blokes who have shown average form at VFL level. Great strategyย

Pedersen has shown reasonable AFL form, Hulett has shown good VFL form (particularly early on) and Dawes continues to show average form at AFL level. So yeah, it is a better strategy. You play the guy that offers more. Dawes pretty much offers nothing most weeks.

Define "bugger all"...

Dawes 2 goals, 5 tackles.

Hogan 0 goals, 1 tackle.

The Dawes bias is strong this week isn't it?

Doubt this means anything this late in the season.

Hang on. I think most people have derided Hogan for his pathetic performance last week. But Dawes has been doing it ever since he came back. He drops too many marks leading up the ground and offers the team the exact opposite that people continually claim, which is that he provides structure. Well, no, he actually undermines our structure by being ineffective as a lead up forward. I don't think anyone could possibly say he's an effective lead up forward, because he doesn't mark the bloody thing.

Wrong.

Dawes played a good AFL game last week. When did Pedersen last even play AFL?

You pick a team on form. Dawes played well last week.

Bad luck, the player you're clearly biased against played well and earned his spot this week.

Who gives a stuff? ย Makes little difference.

Hulett isn't ready anyway. ย

Sorry, haven't got the energy this week. ย We split hairs over selection far too often. ย

Hogan has done more this season than Dawes has done his entire career.

With Dawes in the team we are again playing a man down.

How many premierships does Hogan have again? ;)

Seriously though, we're not comparing careers or talent, we're talking about picking a team on form and Dawes played well enough last week to get another game.

Simple as that.

Yes! Gold Coast, whilst having a plethora of injuries, have 2 very good key Backman as well as Sam day who can play either end. Playing hullet this week on rory Thompson would be a confidence killer first up, even if we won easily. At least Dawes can have a nil all draw.ย

Dawes was solid last week, deserves his spot and hopefully this week we get the desired result

What does it say to guys like Grimes and Trengove when Vandenberg just gets a spot handed to him on a silver platter.

It says you've had your shot and it's time someone else gets a crack at it.

I'm surprised about these inclusions, based on last week's game.

No BenK....played better than Bugg.

Forget Hulett....not ready!

Grimes is stiff. Papers stamped.

Gesus we are way to precious, one game is a confidence killer and he'll never make? He's good enough, will become good enough or not.

Hang in there, only 5 weeks of sparring left for the year.

Hold on, when is trade week....

I think it says that it doesn't matter if you are working hard and getting good numbers at Casey you are not part of our future plans.

I would have thought our defence needs serious bolstering. Not sure if anyone noticed how many goals the GC talls kicked last week. It was plenty. Our weedy defence will get pummelled if GC play like that again. OMac can't play. I assume Garland will come in. As much as I am not a fan of Garland, for this game he is a much better option than OMac.

I'm feeling a big win coming here, usually don't come straight out and say it (I've been burned many a time with the Dees) but the Suns are really in a bad state with their injuries and we are for the most part very very well off with our squad. We lost last week, but we shouldn't have so I feel the boys will be breathing a bit of fire. Jesse has been pretty well held recently so I think he'll be looking for a big game, Big Max again had his colours lowered against Longer but he doesn't stay down very long and will give the likes of Viney, Brayshaw, Jones, and Vince first use at the stoppages.ย

I'd like to see us just explode from the blocks get out to a big lead early and never look troubled. I think this could also be a good chance to play Petracca in the middle for an extended period.

I'm still fuming about the loss last week, hope the boys are as well and take it out on the Suns.

It says "we think he is a better player than you".

Harsh reality of professional sport: some players are better than others, and selection will sometimes be accordingly biased.ย

That maybe the case Gnash but the issue ,as I see it, is that Van Demon has done SFA to earn his recall.

Understand that but Vanders has done nothing this year.
