Just shows how even the comp is this year which is really great. The last few seasons have been so lopsided but I've really enjoyed this season.

Further proof (if it was actually needed) that young teams are unpredictable and inconsistent.

Not sure I agree. The top 8 is predictably going to be the same as last year, with the exception of GWS replacing Richmond. Today's game is down to St Kilda having the more talented list and fluctuating form due to youth. They're back to playing like they were against the Hawks in Tasmania, but they can't do it consistently yet.

As for Carlton, the overrating of their wins irritates me but it's typical of the media to jump on the bandwagon. Brisbane, Essendon, Fremantle, Port and Collingwood (the latter two during their poor patch) make up 5 of their wins, plus the upset against a very flat Geelong (who we also defeated last year). They also have the softest imaginable run home with repeat matches against Brisbane, Essendon, St Kilda and Collingwood.

The only top 8 team they have to play twice is Sydney, so amazingly they could finish on 10+ wins. Just imagine the media fawning then!

Are Carlton really that young though?

I was more referring to stkilda' rebound after last weeks smashing.

I give up. Had the Dogs, Cats and Saints tipped all week and changed them.

Have also tipped the Dees so I'll need to change that too!

It's still hard to gauge where Carlton are at as a club. They would certainly take winning over losing, but with the age profile of the team they are fielding every week, it feels like the recent on field success is little more than a false dawn. The real test comes when you are relying more on the likes of Curnow, McKay and Silvagni.

For any criticism that can be levelled against Melbourne this season in terms of up and down performance, we know where we are at as a club and are getting games into youngsters for them to slowly graduate together as a group.

Watching the Suns,. Jack Martin looked like he could be anything at one stage but he's gone backwards at a rate of knots.

To think that Gold Coast could have drafted Hogan instead.

Great gut-running goal from Martin. Geez he can look a million bucks at times.

I thought Kolodashnij (God knows how it's spelt) was going to take the next step this year after a really solid last season. Seems to have gone backwards big time.

There are a couple GC boys who would have to be looking to abandon ship surely. Prestia hopefully but I hope we are in the ears of say Kolodashnij, Hall and Martin. They all have that outside pace we will need

Suns are right in this. Just need to take those chances at Goal.

I hope he's alright after that hit. Looks horrible.

umps thrown away the whistle in toigs/suns game. 8 frees and half way thru 3rd qtr

Good! Just focus on calling the obvious ones and let the game play out.

Too many stupid inconsistent free kicks every other match. Either pay them all or don't.

Cannot wait to see Prestia in a Melbourne jumper.

I know. I've watched his entire game and not only are his skills currently horrible, he is unbelievably soft. Shirks contests and doesn't appear to give a shite. Not convinced Touk Miller is much better tbh

Umpires have screwed the Suns, massively.

2 free kicks to 3/4 time.

that is not a typo... 2 free kicks.

Umpire was in the perfect position to witness that human skidmark Vickery, clearly push in the back and then drop the ball before the Tiggers got a momentum shifting goal. These maggots are destroying this sport

It does seem one sided. I hate when bo9th players are hanging on to each others jumper but they pay a free kick one way

Yeah, Touk Miller is as bad. Just watched a tackling effort.

Was hoping Suns would win, damn it.

GWS look ridiculously good to this point, Zac Jones makes some shocking errors. Works his tail off to charge out of 50 and just Moloney's it with a long bomb.
