Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

We're in the 8

just had a look at the fixture, Adelaide have some tricky games coming up against Giants, saints, eagles and the roos. The us as the bye rounds come to an end. we could be a game clear in 8th and i think we'll push the hawks.

We would be doing well to come within 30 points of the Hawks. They are still incredibly potent and shouldn't be taken lightly.

while I think we will lose some of the games I looked at thinking we can win, the Hawthorn one is one that I think the players will really get them selves up for. Hawthorns midfield isn't what it used to be, and if Gawn gets on top of McEvoy then our contested ball winning mids should get first use. If we close down Smith or he has an off day, this will go a long way to pushing them. But lightly they are not being taken. Our zone seems to fail when fast players get on top and break our lines. Hawks still seem to be playing the short hit up style out of defence, which we have defended against well.

As for the 8, I see our return game against St Kilda as a must win and don't think we will, they just spread too quick and break our zone. Beating Port twice and the old eight point game against Adelaide. But as a young team I wouldn't be surprised if we put in some real shocking performances against teams that we would be favourites against and then play some good games against good opponents, Like the Hawks game I picked out.

Hopefully we start putting it together consistently, because our best will beat some of the top 6 teams, but our worst loses to essendon. If we can start playing badly and still beating teams like Brisbane, Collingwood, tigs, and the like with only the occasional loss then I think we will all be happy supporters playing finals or not.

So after writing all of that, it looks like I'm the ultimate fence sitter on taking a punt on us making the 8. How good is it having a competitive that we can talk about winning some of these games. It seemed so far off just a couple of years ago.

The overwhelming optimism here gives me serious cause for concern about the outcome of tomorrow's match.

Feels suspiciously like the St Kilda match, after we won 2-in-a-row and spent the week beaming in the media.

MFCSS. :P

I've tipped the Doggies.  I think we'll push them, but they are a very solid side even with the injuries.

Think positive!

A good margin in the win over the Bulldogs + GC over GWS + Fremantle over Hawthorn ... and we're into the top 4!

still a chance for top 6, win by 11+ goals & WCE win by less than 8 goals

The Tigers just beat Sydney. Anyone is beatable on their day.  I think we will give the dogs a good show and am hopeful and somewhat confident of victory tomorrow. But I'm nervous about next week against Brisbane.

After the Essendon game, we have every right to query whether we will win the games we should win.

Hopefully, though, the GC win instilled the necessary belief in us that we are actually better than those sides.

Collingwood absolutely creamed Brisbane tonight and we should beat them, but we are talking about Melbourne. I think they will trouble us because sides like Brisbane, Carlton and Essendon always do and that's the thing we have to stop.

I'm a deez supporter living in sa and watched Geelong at Adelaide oval ...was stoked when Geelong won. One thing I'd like to say is the main difference I am seeing with the current demons side is passion. the Players are starting to show pride in the red and blue. willing to stand up for team mates who get knocked around - not being bullied by opposition. let's keep this up dee'z yeeeeeew

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
