Even taking into account Adelaide's accurate kicking, Geelong should still be at least 20+ points up.

Why should they?

Umm, because they've had 27 scoring shots to 16.

Another ridiculous deliberate OOB from a fumble this time against Cats

They just do not understand the game

How does seedsman miss that shot directly in front. Disgraceful. Then Enright just bombed one from outside 50. Adelaide just can't get that next goal to get in front.

But for us to have any hope in getting into the 8 providing we win or just to stay in touch we need the cats to win.

Cats look home now.

If we can beat the Doggies we will be in the 8.

So? You could pick out 100 should haves in a game of footy - it's a totally different equation if instead of saying "they should have kicked more goals", you change it to "Adelaide should have hit more targets through the middle/half forward".  The possibilites in a game of footy are infinite - I think the only scenario that matters is the one that actually happened.

Furthermore, any one of those misses going through for a goal changes the course of the game entirely - ball goes back to the middle instead of being kicked in and trapped again at half back, which takes the contest back to even, rather than giving them another opportunity to trap it at half back, which they've done really well.  I think you could argue that if Geelong had kicked more goals early on, they'd have generated far fewer scoring opportunities, and some of them that turned out to be Geelong scoring opportunities could even have been Adelaide scoring opportunities due to the contest being reset.

Cats win by about 20 points and we are in the 8 on percentage after this game.

In the 8 right now but meaningless unless we kick the Dogs.

Never seen so many players from the one team kick as blindly as Adelaide have tonight - every time they get the ball it's on their boot without even lifting their head to see where they're kicking. And of course Cats are there to mark it and send it down the other end. Cats should be way more in front.

Agree, but I would rather be in the 8 than not.

OMG prancing pony picks another deliberate from a miskick under pressure.  They really do not understand footy.

Thanks Gil for another blight on our once enjoyable game.

Don't watch the end...it gets worse. For your sake, I'm telling you this.

Although, I haven't even watched it. Any movie where a dog dies, i avoid it like the plague.

Cannot see WCE, Hawthorn or Giants getting beaten this round so if we can put in a win over the dogs it will give us a good break over the rest particularly if the Blues can get Port. makes the game on Sunday all the more important.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
