Not a big loss in my opinion. 

I think the youthful enthusiasm is driving our good football, helps that the kids are built for it and have talent, and they're being fed by Max Gawn. They get the modern game and they're enjoying it. There's a lot of experienced players around the league struggling to cope with how footy is being played.

Not sure why you say its not Roos.  At the swans he had Shaw, Malckeski, Bolton, Jack and a few others play as 'dashing half backs'.  And they won a premiership this way.

To me this team structure has Roos stamped all over it.

Frankly I don't give a stuff about who is out from the opposition - it has been taken as a "good omen" far too often over the past decades, with inevitable painful results.

I only care about our guys beating whomever the opposition put out there.

No matter how good your team is, there'll always be the 38th best player on the list. How you react to them, and regard them, is a measure of your knowledge and maturity as a supporter. Constant denigration hardly ever looks good.

I am now a believer that if we play up to a high standard and get contributions from most then we will be in all games up to our necks.

We didn't get beaten by StKilda and Essendon because they are better than us - we were beaten because they played better than us.

We got beaten by North because they were a bit more mature than we are and a loss is a loss but I was disappointed rather than angry ( I was angry after the Saints and Bombers games)

I'm with you - it doesn't matter who they put out on the field  - it is up to us.

Fair enough.

I suspect you've got to know some of the players personally and most of us haven't had that opportunity.

I just want to win.  Individuals don't come in to my calculations, unless, of course, they make us better.  

That's not to say I won't remember them fondly, but a nano seconds thought is where it ends.

I think it was against Richmond and he played (poorly) with it against St Kilda.

Just watched the last 45 mins of training. Lumumba didn't train. He won't play. Salem was taking part in all drills and stuck around at the end of the session and did a bit of one on one kicking with Rawlings  

newton and ANB were in everything and did a lot of one on one drills

fairly sure those three will be the Ins on Thursday night. 

Brayshaw and trengove did not train as if they were going to play in the senior side  on Sunday. Both were involved in all the drills but finished up when the majority of the group did and didn't stick around for extra stuff after. Couple more weeks for those two I'd think.

I'm with you - it doesn't matter who they put out on the field  - it is up to us.

A good summation of our season so far.

We are a better team than EssUndone, and probably than St Kilda - but we didn't / weren't allowed to / weren't prepared to play better than them on the day.

Norf as you say are far more mature and seasoned and used to playing together as  a team, yet we still nearly pipped them.

This week v Dogs will be a great indicator of where we are physically, skill levels, team work and perhaps most importantly, mentally....really looking forward to it.

I have thought we are far superior than them over the past 2 years but the evidence has finally convinced me they are slightly ahead of us right now.  I am still very confident we have the better/younger list and will be much better than them very soon

Better than fringe players ?  Why have they been playing at Casey ?

But it begs the question...  Even if you disagree with my assessment how are they being disrespected by being called ordinary or fringe ?

It is always folly to say "we are a better team on paper" as paper is not what takes to the footy field each week.

To my mind, we are better than StKilda ( this season) but as is constantly said by all and sundry if you don't turn up to play you will get beaten and we did that against StKilda and Essendon

I was at training   HL Hogan Kent were no shows     cameras all over the place and all over Clayton Oliver leaving early in some discomfort      expect it on news      there was also a training drill that resulted in blood noses to Dunn Watts and I think Grimes      Salem and Brayshaw did full session   at the end of session there was quite a willing tacklng drill between Trac and Viney   have a couple pics to put on Twitter

Chook never said they were being disrespected and simply stated in the first place that they deserve respect.  Go ahead and critique the players, good or bad, as you will but with respect.  And I am not saying that you have been disrespectful but suspect that if you are, you may be criticised.

I disagree with you sentiment, like to ask how you would react if somebody said you were ordinary?    Just because they are footy players, in fact, any footy player, some seem to think they can disrespect them. As I have said before if given the opportunity would you state to Jack Grimes in person that he was ordinary
