Male or female RTG? Or did you do both husband and wife? ย Just love these details

I alternate. He's a homeopath (that's the random detail).

Good to celebrate a win of this margin but people seem to be forgetting that our first half was shocking. The second was good but Gold Coast were dreadful.

Puts a rather compelling case to Dion... :)

I felt like it was more the other way around. Dion seemed to be auditioning for us. Was one ofย their better midfielders and probably their most consistent throughout the entire game.ย

So it has nothing to do with us stepping up our pressure and playing a better game?ย

The first half was a very average game of football. We got better.

Oh get lost you bloody wet blanket.

Just for a point of reference.ย  The last time we kicked over 150 was round 6ย  2004.ย  How amazing is that?

It's been mentioned, but how good is it that we kick our biggest score in over a decade with only one goal from our two key forwards?ย  Massive spread.ย

Hunt is showing what he can do.ย  Now the next step is to hit targets better.ย  Right now he's Sprint, Sprint, Sprint, Bomb and we need him to be more Sprint, Sprint, Steady, Hit target.ย  What I really love in his game though is that he uses his pace to get to contests and defend.ย  He's what we wanted Blease to be.ย

So so happy with the young brigade.ย  I include Viney in that number as he's only in his fourth season. The commentators were raving about the big bodied, powerful young mids we've put together and how this is the sort of midfield that wins you finals.ย  When it clicks this team looks mighty.ย

Wagner and Hunt just look like a champion HB pairing for the next decade or so.ย  Wagner had a shocking clanger for a goal against early on, but his disposal and hardness are great.ย  The pair just seem to fit and provide the rebound and attack we need.ย

GAWN.ย  He was so stuffed he couldn't walk out of the goalsquare for an opposition kick-in by the end, but he's a monster.ย  Amazing game again.ย  Could have had five goals too!ย

There are just too many positives from this game to mention them all.ย  It was just awesome to watch.ย

Oh, this will be the third time this season we've won but not moved up on the ladder, while we have twice moved up after a loss.ย  :)

Scully wouldn't get a start in this mid field.

Sorry to say, but Scully would be the outside runner we need and probably rack up 40 touches a game with our inside ball-winners feeding him.ย

Prefer to sayย ย  We didn't take our chances in the first half and allowed GC scoring opportunities through poor defense.

IN the second half we did what good sides do and lifted to crush the opposition.

Excuse me?ย

ย

Another random point.ย  We scored 105 points in the second half.ย  How cool is that?ย

Did Viney come back on after being hurt?

Nope.

Re the original comment, I'd prefer to say that if you have sufficient emotional investment in a footy team that you post on a fan forum, at least enjoy a massive win and let the coaching staff deal with the stress of ironing out whatever kinks were apparent in the game!ย

Especially after the last 10 years - who cares if they were shocking or if we had defensive issues?! :)

...

Actually not true, despite them continually saying it on tv. We scored over 150 in round 4 2011. Looking back at the 2011 results again, they are crazy. Iย haven't checked but it may be the first time we've scored 160 points since 2004 though?

ย

Also, I believe we had 13 individual goal kickers, which is a record for quite sometime.

SO we did.ย  And look at who the opposition was!ย

You've completely misinterpreted my post. Just settle down RM and pay attention.ย

At one stage, about midway throughย the final quarter, the contested possession leadersย came up on the screen. Oliver was first with 12 and Petracca second with 11. Beasts.

If the opposing ruckman doesn't play a blinder, teams are on the back foot all game vs Gawn. What a luxury.ย

Thought Viney's first half disposal was woeful. He snuffed that out with 2 kicks straight after half time.ย

The skipper lead like he should, could smell a kill and really stepped up.ย

Oliver is a [censored] amazing footballer. Best hands I've seen at the Dees ever. That handball into the corridor before Bernie [censored] it up was something else.ย

Nev Jetta is one courageous and extremely consistent footballer.ย

Apart from Nev the defence always worriesย me.ย

Small forwards kicking goals on opposite feet and Petracca getting a feel for it, party time.ย

ย

I'd be happy if I never heard the name Ablett again, [censored] they never shut up about him. Gawn sold him candy once, and outran him later, no mention of that though.ย

Get stuffed afl ladder. 4 and 3 not good enough for the 8?!?

We actually moved up the ladder last week despite our loss, so this sort of squares the ledger.

Hunt came of age tonight. Love his dash. Best game I've seen Jetta play. Imagine kicking 24 goals with Watts and Hogan getting only one between them. Loved Watts sacrificial game making space for others. Bugg and Kennedy are great additionsย

We only go up when we lose.

Not quite. Because we won against the Richmond and didn't move up the week before.

Most even season in a long time, the good news is we have a healthy percentage.

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
