Really? I thought he had a shocker. Yeah he got the ball but missed 2 regulation shots and turned the ball over several times. He was marking well though.

Third time in a row that we've kicked 100+ points. We only did it four times in 2015 and none in 2014.

Not only are we winning games, but we're entertaining the fans whilst getting in sync with modern footy. Whatever they're paying Roos it isn't enough. Can't believe he's content with living in Hawaii after this season is out.

I liked seeing him up the ground, but Hogan looked lethargic again. Could he be carrying an injury, or just a bit down on form/confidence? 

In any case, that fact we are scoring 20 goals when he's not firing is awesome in itself!

Jeffy was awesome today! 4 goals and at least two handball give offs to Harmes and Frost that he could have scored, plus the mark that Hogan spoiled and he could have easily had seven... A great pick up, and given his age possibly better than Bernie.

Yes it wasn't Hoges night and that's not surprising given that Rance would have been fired up to play on him after Hoges torched him last season. But the good thing was that Hoges didn't sulk, didn't stop running and worked hard even though he was pretty ineffectual. But sometimes when you have the best player on the opposition on you, you have to just accept that you have a role to play, even if that means it's not going to be your night. It's a team game after all and I don't recall Warren Tredrea dominating the 2004 grand final, even though he was Port's best player for the whole year.

His field kicking wasn't great and he looked to crack the sads a few times.

Gee polarising perceptions! I thought Jesse was ver team oriented tonight played up the ground did some very constuctive things, Yep missed a couple of goals but I thought he was very very solid all night!

I was at the game, not sure if you were or not but I think perceptions can be very different when compared to watching on TV.

I was at the game, and agree 100% with picket, he was certainly having an off night but he got to a few contests, bought the ball to ground and had a crack, i think as far as bad days go, it wasn't the worst.

I thought he did a lot of good work getting the ball (and his touches reflect that) and competing in the air. Needs to switch to chase mode a little earlier but that's never been the strength of his game. 

The fast pace of the game creates some chances for him but also means he has to link up in strange positions as well. Sounds trivial, but he doesn't have a Jesse Hogan to kick too either! 

If he nails the 2 shots for goal and cleans up the 2 turnovers by foot then he would've had a great game. Otherwise I'd say he had a solid game playing to his strengths and learning more about where he needs to improve.

Amazed (but not surprised) how clueless the commentators are about the Melbourne team, and who we've got out to come in over the next couple of months. They were rabbiting on about have with our young list we'd need to win games early in the season because we're going to be pooped by the second half of the season...

No mention that today we had Oliver (rested), VanDen Berg (injured), with Petracca, Trengove, ANB, Weideman, Dawes, etc starting to find form and fitness in the reserves.  

Anyway, was a great win. Keep it coming!

I haven't seen the replay yet, but did they replay Vince's 'touched on the line' fourth shot? From our view in the forward pocket it was over by a metre.

Thought so. I couldn't believe they didn't go up top for that one. Particularly, when they bothered to go upstairs for Jeffy's one off the ground earlier in the game, which was obviously a goal. The umpiring was bewildering at times tonight.

Richmond came to play, their season on the line.  They challenged us multiple times yet, like the Pies last week, we were never headed once we kicked the opening goal. There's room for improvement but it was still a good win. And now we get to see the blowtorch on Hardwick this week.
