Heard on SEN with Andy Maher and Brett Anderson that Geelong are into Tom MacDonald. Makes sense, Lonergan will be 33 next year.

He's not a free agent, so they would have to trade for him.

Dangerfield will do.

Kolodjashnij, Cockatoo and a 2nd/3rd round pick. That would at the very least get my attention.

I've heard elsewhere from a half decent sauce that one of the reasons Tom isn't signing is because he had the sh!ts about how much we are alleged to have offered Hurley, who incidentally is supposed to be good mates with J Watts.

Take it or leave it, but I saw a comment earlier so thought I'd post it.

Rance! TMac! Hurley!

You put your KPD in
You put your KPD out
You put your KPD in
And you offer him all around
You do the KPD pokie
And you trade em around
That's what it's all about

If this is true, it would suggest the T. Mac is all about himself and not the team. He's 23 and isn't a marqee player, so his big payday is still ahead of him. He should also realise that it takes a big offer to attract a big name player.

Did any of the Bulldogs players crack the sh!ts with Boyd's big contract? No, they all extended their existing contracts as a sign of faith in the club.

Don't understand why TMac would be upset about what someone else was getting paid. Maybe if it was because he was being offered less due to that player's contract, but I really don't see that happening with the list we have right now.

On Footy Classified this week Matthew Lloyd made the comment that T Mac should not be expecting as much as $700k because of his delivery, or lack thereof, then they crossed to footage of one of TMac's classic brain-fade passes across ground last week as evidence.

Tommy must have also been snaky when we offered Hooker a large amount of money

I spoke to Tmac today, and the above is rubbish, if eventually he leaves it won't be for the above reason

It will be like any other player out of contract, he is offered more money, he thinks another club has a better shot at a premiership, he likes the coaching setup at another club better or has links with the coaches etc etc

I always find these player movements amusing where the supporters get angry, blokes the players ages change jobs all the time, for better pay, more opportunity etc, the only one that has stuck in my craw lately was Scully because he lied, Chip Frawley had not made his made up to actually go until after seasons end

If the boot was on the other foot, and Tommy Mc was delisted we would have posters on here probably celebrating if they thought he was not AFL standard

Tommy Mc is actually happy at MFC so it is nothing to do with 'discontent'

Have you ever met a player who is not happy at the club?

Oh yes, as you know I talk to the players, but not prepared to divulge who, not a present player though

If Geelong try and get him it'll have to be a 3 way trade, they don't have the currency to satisfy us.

Yes, I asked him how the contract discussions were going, said before if you ask the right way the players will talk to you, similarly to Chip Frawley don't think he has made any decision whatsoever at the moment, as Roos has stated 'discussions are ongoing', you have to get it right on both sides. I personally think he is like Watts he has survived the horror and wants the chance to go forward with the club

I'll say it again, I chat to them and they know to trust me to judge what to put on here, also if they ask me not to repeat something I don't, so what you get here is what I consider to be what myself and the players are comfortable with..........I agree with injury you may as well ask one of the trees at Goschs, I asked Hoges today and I got 'yes it's fine', told him I wouldn't believe what he told me anyway and he just laughed

Maybe we don't need to ask TMAC if he's happy, but if he thinks our defence needs time to develop or if we need to bring in a KPD ;) Maybe his financial contentment is tied to the years he's put in and his confidence in our current defence needing a year or two more development rather than throwing big money at someone who hasn't done as much hard work at OUR club to get the payoff. and maybe he feels his brothers position in the side is directly tied to Hurleys. I would hazarrd a guess and say Tom might have just as much confidence in the current defence developing into a premiership contention level over the next few years, as we have of the midfield and attack.

I can empathise with him have having even a grain of frustration

Well, given he is apparently receiving offers of more money from clubs that are clearly closer to premierships, it would seem we're in trouble.

I am sure we have enquired lots of players as well  Hibberd  we know of, Hurley probably and  Prestia etc, clubs do it all the time, it doesn't necessarily equate that the player moves

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
