It's already taken into account. They were banned for 2 years from the date of the Tribunal results (31 March 2015), which would take it until March 2017. But they've already served 4 ½ months provisional, which brings it back to November.

Thanks for that info Bing but how does it work? Doesn't this mean that the players played through a period of suspension season 2015?

The players were banned because they trusted the club and people involved.
CAS don't understand how AFL works. You do what you are told. If your club doctor says something you don't go to your local GP as well

Another quote from Bombers forum on BF.

They Reeeaaaaaaaaaaally have no idea.

So the first novel in the trilogy has wound to its conclusion. The

But some teasers have been put down for what might be in the second book: going after Hird and his gang of support staff.

The third book will be the lawsuits ... the threads of the plot will be laid down in the second book.

I wonder if Dank will now produce the evidence that completely exonerates the players like he claimed he would do when the time was right?

I am told Jakes contract with us has conditions that if a guilty verdict is handed down his salary is significantly reduced, there is no way the clubs/boards who pick up these players would agree under normal conditions,

Saints and Port are paying big money for Carlisle/Ryder

One player who suffered cardiac arrhythmia was referred (by Reid) to a specialist who asked the player what he was taking that might affect the medication he was about to prescribe. Players said only vitamins. Specialist contacted Reid who said no, nothing.

This absolutely blows me out of the water. So [censored] up

For the MFC this decision means both Michie and White are likely to be able to be upgraded (one can be upgraded at the start of the season automatically).  I note in his "list update" Roos made reference to Michie being in a position to make the round 1 team.  Making Michie a rookie seems to me to be part of whatever back-up plan the administration had.

If they don't have to pay Melksham this year but have him available for pre-season next year (and thereafter) and two ready made players to come up, the risk was worth the potential loss.

That's the thing. Better value was to be had for the pick. What now...something 2ndrate as compared. Brilliant positioning !!!

Mitch White.

Can the players who were drafted this year ask to go to a different club? They might be able to argue that their welfare/careers are going to be ruined by being in such a stressful/toxic environment.

Not enough...

But it'll do !!

Now for Hird !!

More like a frozen book of tickets eh Old dropped from 10 storeys !!

Well bb happy to say you were right and I was wrong. Excellent result .

wait a minute.. it's all well and good to revel in the misfortune of Essendon but surely there is nowhere near enough outrage about the fact we actually traded in one of their players

we obviously had no clue what we were doing

gobsmacked

Early odds on us being the first club to lose to the top-ups in the season proper?

Don't temp me....please.

On the other hand, they are likely to play more games than they might otherwise have expected.

I don't feel sorry for clubs who took EFC players including the MFC.

they knew the risk and are now paying the price.

the Milksake is gone for 2016.

Great trading for Melksham.

Contingency plan? I guess Mitch White or another rookie will be upgraded.

Another typical Bomberblitz sample.  However, more than usual taking aim at the administration

Pathetic, disgusting etc.

Corruption of the highest standard. If essendon do not appeal this and make sure our players can play the season they are dead to me!

Fkn concur
EFC has one chance to stand up to the AFL
Gill - you either backdate these bans so players miss no games & walk away from WADA code or we boycott the season
Can't let us do that eh - well maybe our boys who didn't get banned might protest on the ground - how would that make your precious Fkn AFL comp look then eh

Calm down, we will upgrade a rookie and might unearth a champion. It is not the end of the world.

But we wasted a pick 25. That's the point! We could have another second rounder or a trade and White

In fact we only have White

We didn't waste a pick, he comes back in in 2017 champing at the bit to prove himself, and he'll only be 25.

Really not that big a deal. I'm looking forward to seeing what White can do!

Today's decision does nothing to affect Goodwin. But what is to follow might ... now that it's shown that the players took TB-4, ASADA may now go after the coaches and support staff ...

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
