Lock it in.

Don't think it's that black and white. Now that they have Pick 11 they could easily go Schache at 1 and Kieran Collins at 11. Cover both key posts

Do people think Pick 7 is to early for Harrison McKay from Gippsland Power?

a no skinny kids policy? We have ready to go mids, we need speed, kicking efficiency and competitors no matter what the size i reckon. Gunston is a stick insect compared with jesse white and look how they compare.

I think Mahoney said that they weren't sure if they'd go mid/forward or mid/mid. So there appears to be some sort of leaning towards picking midfielders early in this draft.

I would take what Mahoney said with a grain or two of salt. He said that after we'd traded for pick 10 that we would hold it and not trade it. Of course, he may have honestly believed that at the time. Also, if I was in the drafting business, I wouldn't be disclosing my hand and I wouldn't expect Mahoney to (or want him to).

Just watched Mileras highlight re, [censored] I would not mind drafting this kid. Knows how to operate in traffic and on the open plains.

link?

I reckon Clayton Oliver is also worth a look at Pick 7. Really tough, inside mid who has leader written all over him. Could play from day one, gets clearances, great tackler etc. A few highlights here:

Some tough decisions for our recruiting team to make in the next month!

I'm interested to see when Weideman's name will be spelt the same way twice on one page.

Yeah me too. I don't think Werdermen will be spelt the same way twice on any page.

Was that Weirdyman?

seems his family also had spelling problems

Spelling variations of this family name include: Weide, Weid, Weiden, Waide, Weidler, Weidman, Weidmann, Weidner, Weidtler, Widmann, Wiede, Wiedmann, Wiedemann and many more.

Lance Whitnall looks good.

Gee, Milera is huge! Didn't expect him to be that tall and so evasive. Looks good!

how tall is he?

likes handball more than scott west

I think he may go around pick 10-15?

Quick question. Can we take both Lovell and Lovett under Father/Son?

Milera looks extremely smart to. That handball thru the pack in the Center square to his team mate running into it was sublime.

This will fall on deaf ears, but don't start endorsing players from highlight reels.

Demonland has the "many more" part covered.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
