The speedy outside midfielder/flanker whose career to date has been blighted by a back injury started the long haul back in the development league at Casey. Showed some promise in the senior team in the latter half of the year as a goal sneak and shared the club's goal kicking with Max King but needs to introduce more consistently during matches.

I'm not sure where Jayden Hunt is in terms of the team's list. His progress has been slowed by various injuries and he has shown some glimpses of speed and polish as a footballer but in the games I've seen, they're only glimpses and he has too many quiet periods during which he seemingly vanishes from the game. This could be due to the history of injuries which might affect his ability to see out games but it's a definite question mark that I have over him at this stage and it wouldn't surprise me if he was delisted with a view to being rookied if available in the rookie draft. To my mind, he has a lot of developing to do before he can be AFL quality.

To be honest i am still underwhelmed with Hunt. Has speed but he struggle to even get up to no more then 10 disposals. Showed a few glimpse here and there but not sure he has the tools to be an AFL player. He fits the term of athlete first, footballer second..

If we need to make more room on our list i would say Hunt would be first to go along. I personally wouldn't rookie list him either.

If he'd been injury free for the two years i'd say delist. But given the injuries he has had and the little glimpses he has got to show. Throw in his speed that we lack, i say he's worth re-rookie listing.

Few here would actually know where he is up to.

He was as I recall a bit of a surprise selection in the first place.

Will leave it to our professional experts to asses his worth going forward.

I can't see the value to keeping someone who (a) can barely get on the field and (b) barely touches the ball even at lower levels. No way I would keep him on the senior list, but maybe a last round rookie selection if the club thinks he is over his injury problems and there isn't another Vandenberg style pick available..

Was spotted when the recruiters were watching Salem at Brighton Grammer. I think it was Robert Shaw that said you should look at this kid. Has pace to burn and good attitude. Injuries have been a problem.

Except he can kick too. I would rookie him.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
