2015 FINALS

Wanted Weagles to win - tick

Sydney to win - cross

Dogs to win - cross

Tigers to win - cross

Some great games of footy but more or less every team I was going for lost (Liverpool lost as well so maybe it's me!).

I really wanted to see the Dogs come out in front and they really shot themselves in the foot on that one. So many chances but scoreboard pressure is so important, especially in finals. They are a young side though and I feel this is probably where they are at. I think they'll finish similar position next year and winning a final will be the big goal, still plenty for them to learn. Adelaide had the older heads and steadied when they needed to, I don't think it'll happen but i'd love to see them knock the Hawks out in straight sets.

Tigers I wanted to win more because I hate north, particularly after the way they carried themselves into the final round. As soon as north did that though the tigers should've as well and to be honest that showed at the end. I hate Brad Scott, the way he carries on is pathetic at times, like a petulant child. I hope Sydney obliterate them, though I see it being a tight game.

Having said all that I thoroughly enjoyed all the matches I saw, and enjoyed hearing at times how much the Hawks were losing by. It's building up to a derby GF.

According to the news here last night it's an 83% probability of being an all WA GF....

im a bit slow off the mark huh !! lol

I live in Perth and all I'm hearing is how good the WA side are. It's making me feel ill!!

Just concentrate on the fact that one of them is going to be feeling really $%@*house at the end of this. Should be some comfort there.

Hawthorn still win the flag IMO. They defeat Adelaide, then Freo in WA and then West Coast on the MCG in the GF.

Even if they make the GF, Freo can't win it - 6/10 goals from Ballantyne and Walters on the weekend - the GF is a small forwards' graveyard.

i reckon Adelaide will "do it for Phil" this Friday...whether they go further than that may depend on injuries

History is against them But not every team has a coach murdered mid season.

Tackle the Hawks Hard.

adelaide play a more free wheeling offensive games

this will suit hawthorn's game style

hawthorn is most susceptible to the defensive, close-checking, pressure game where they start to make errors

not sure crows can play that style

The crows won on Saturday because the Dogs kicked themselves out of it.

Hawks will kill them this weekend IMO

When was the last time a side won the flag having lost their qualifying final though? That extra week off makes a massive difference. I'm nowhere near as confident as you that they beat Freo in WA.

Hi Kevin. You played 35 years ago.

And kicked 7 in a grand final. Mind you I had half a dozen strands of hair left on my head then.

Thomas given a 1k fine for his kick.

What a [censored] joke.

well, it wasn't a kick, more of a leg push. and no damage done. certainly not a good look but

Not one player on our current list were even born then and neither was I. Too long ago to be relevant to any discussion on modern trends.

Can't see anyone beating the Eagles.

I don't think that's ever happened...

West Coast in 2006 was the last team to make the GF despite losing the qualifying final, with Adelaide concurrently the last team to lose a prelim after having the week off.

Obviously, it's really rare, so even though Fremantle isn't in form, the week off and the home final are going to be tough for anyone to beat.

It wasn't a kick it was a push off with the foot.

Probably wasn't a good look but as we know it's finals. The rules and flexible this time off year.

#pedant: You mean the qualifying final. It is a bit hard to lose the preliminary final and make the GF ... :):mad:

I still think the Hawks are a chance. I know many won't agree, but they can do it. Credit to West Coast they played well, the Hawks were off. How much of a factor did the Eagles game play in the Hawks being off.

Time will tell.

Let's not forget Hawthorn tearing apart Freo and Sydney earlier in the year plus away wins against West Coast and Adelaide.

Yeah, Hawthorn is probably the only other team that can seriously win it.

Brain fart. Fixed, thanks.

No worries. Had plenty of those myself.

I think Freo win the flag from here, I really like the Eagles but I think beating Freo in a Grand final vs beating them in season when they were miles infront on top of the ladder will prove to be two totally different things.
