HB is the kind of player that makes me angry that we don't have one of. If that makes sense. One of those classy, speedy game winners that just make me want to take most of our list out the back and put them out of my misery.

Get. Him.

Ive heard rumours about all sorts of players. Im kinda doubtful myself. Think Bennell could fall in our lap providing he can be convinced we are a good option.

Prestia and Bennell for Howe, 2015 first and second round pick and 2016 first round pick.

Watts, Howe and pick 6 for Bennell, Prestia and a late pick

A man can dream

Nowhere near enough.

Its their two best midfielders (sans Ablett)

Mark Stevens just reported on CH7 news that MFC are officially out of the race for Harley Bennell and that we had pulled out even before his weekend exploits.

If, and it's a big if, that's true then I trust Roos, Mahoney and the rest 100%. They would have done their due diligence and made a decision that, despite his talent, his character and off field issues aren't something we need at the club going forward.

It's either that or they're sniffing around elsewhere and quite confident of landing something big.

Would give up pick 5 for sure. The latest news is a nothing story, oh he got into a scuffle with a bouncer? Big deal. The bouncer was probably baiting him

Lets say you're right and that the bouncer ws baiting him. The funny thing is that you don't get why him reacting to being baited is a problem

Those quick to dismiss him would be well advised to remember a young enigmatic player who had a string of discipline issues in his early days. Was very nearly traded but managed to stayed at the club. Went on to win 3 flags and a Norm Smith.

I'm not saying there is no risk, of course there is, but the reward could be huge for a player of that talent.

I would remind you of a superior talent who repeatedly kicked bags of goals, did things most wouldn't dream of and tantlised enough for most to ignore his off-field issues and questionable work ethic until he walked out on the club, went home and got arrested for attacking someone with a machete.

Bottom line, we don't want a guy who brings this much baggage and a high probability of winding up in jail.

NSC, I reckon every forum of every club believes Bennell 'could fall in our lap'.

Not these days.

I think you would be surprised...

but I also think there are some we would need to tread carefully with. Looks like Bennell may have been one.

He's a gun player and exactly what we need

But if the club thinks he'll do more damage than good, I trust them

We are a young group and the coaches are trying to instil professionalism. HB screams unprofessional.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
