GAME DAY - Round 15

Featured Replies

Geez I'm starting to get nervous now. Can't sit still. Reckon if I'd been an AFL player I'd be that guy who has a quiet spew on boundary during the warmup.

There's still an hour to go damnit!

My hands are beginning to shake a bit....

I'm taping the game and keeping an eye on the scores today, can't watch this one if we start playing poorly, just can't handle it!!

I'm at work, listening on MMM as it's all I have access to. Would normally pick ABC but the crap radio here a very coarse AM band and the internet connection is too unreliable to stream.

Hate hate hate not being able to see what's going on, but at least the radio is better than nothing.

Plus the radio is something you can throw and replace a little easier than a TV if things go pear shaped...

Yep, might go to the gym for this one and check the scores every half hour.

Never been so nervous about a game. It's weird how indifferent I was about checking scores against Sydney/Freo/Hawks because I basically assumed a loss was imminent; different story today when everyone expects you to win and a defeat would be crushing.

Neil Craig gushing about Melbourne on 3AW, highly rates the job Viney is doing on recruitment, and the way our squad is finally coming together. Paul's influence and all the people he's brought in can't be denied, and "if you're a member of the Melbourne footy club, you can see a nice, steady improvement getting everything into place."

Good on Craigy i was always a fan of him and i know for a fact the players really loved him and had huge respect for him.

He would be that calming influence to the players that are mentally spent there.

I despise Essendon, my step son an otherwise clever lad is amongst those that can't see what the fuss is about. Not looking forward to the weather but am for the game. Will rug up and enjoy the day. Go Dees...tear them one. Deliver the coup de gras a la Hird. Put this club to the sword...inflict pain. May the ghosts of 2000 swarm to wreak vengeance upon the unworthy...in other words make merry hell Melbourne...it is after all our domain.

Rise Demons......slaughter them

Such beautiful words Beez...

No Mercy Demons

SET THEM ON FIRE...

Melksham out- who I think is their best player, on game day.

We should win and win well.

Having a beer in the bar and reading the record whilst waiting for the old man, and came across a mind blowing stat.

Spencer's disposal efficiency for the season is 78.4... Wot

Its an easy stat when he handballs a fair bit.

You're joking right? Turnover machine. Heppell and Watson are easily their best players.

I live for the day that we achieve complete and utter vengeance for that head on hit of Long on Simpson.

C'mon AF you have been around these traps long enough to know the Biff well enough!? ^_^

I'm stuck in West Papua thanks to that shitty volcano in East Java.

Thankfully, Australia Plus is telecasting the game. I'll watch it the game on a 32" screen all in low definition analogue.

What a shame the weather is going to potentially even the contest up. I'm looking for a big win.

Gees you get around....

Its an easy stat when he handballs a fair bit.

M Jones over 80% and he kicks most of the time, I think. How is effectiveness even defined in this case?

So to all those with pay TV what channel do I tell the staff at the RSL to put the TV on?

Fox Footy

Channel 504.

Had a moment of autism. Apologies.

Thank you

Im stuck in Daylesford today but theres been hardly any rain here...(and we usually get it)..is it really raining much down there????

Pouring down in the warm ups if no one has mentioned it already

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
