There won't be if the Lions win by 6

(Goals).

lol, very nice.

There's nothing wrong with anticipating one thing and hoping for the other.

In fact as Melbourne supporters, I'd guess that we're all pretty familiar with this particular mindset.

I feel much more comfortable as a Dees supporter when I'm expecting we lose.

I'd like to see Viney run with Hanley. That will be a big test as Hanley doesn't stop running.

Also, Vince to Rockliff. Cross to Beams.

The Jack Viney made me cry thread

made me cry when he hit the post when a goal was needed vs the Druggists

He has to go to Robinson...it will only take 5 mins.

I don't think Jack made him cry, I think it was something else he wanted to do to Jack!

Rockliff had 14 touches. For some perspective, that's his lowest possession tally since Round 9 2011 where he also had 14. Round 6 2010 was the last time he had less. Not only did Viney negate his impact, he was able to get 23 touches himself. We're not talking about a Simon Godfrey tagger here, we're talking about one that do damage the other way. I'd be shocked if he didn't get maximum votes in the Coaches award.

These midfield guns should be thinking if we can't beat him (Viney), maybe we should join him!

Also if we could get a gif of Gawn flattening Robinson and have it on a continual loop, pinned to the top of the boards, that would be swell!

If someone uploads the game on YT ill make the gif

I think demonology normally post links to youtube uploads on their videos page.

Opposition midfielders would see him running up to them before the bounce and be like 'oh no, please God, not this little bastard'

and don't we love him for it

That was absolute gold....the look on his face too.......glad somebody finally got him, hes been asking for it for a long time...

What stage of the game was it? I might have to go searching on the smart replay

Replays can be found in Bigpond's AFL videos. The replay usually stays up for a few days after the match.

On this "there is no good news" kind of day at demonland I have a positive topic

I am overseas so I need some help with this list but can we make a list of Guys that Jack Viney has run with and beaten

Here is a start

Gary Ablett (abiet with a broken wing - helped by Jack)

Jack Stevens

Tom Rockliff

Joel Selwood

I am sure there is more

Isn't her having a pretty good year. Just loves the way he will take on the best and beat them. It is like a double win.

Can we complete the list here

I didn't include the Port Adelaide game as he started sub. Sorry if it looks a little out of whack. Pretty much has broke even or beaten his opponent.

He's kept some known accumulators down to very low possession counts. I wonder if they are season lows in most instances.

Turning into a gun of a footballer. I really like the unsociable side to his game - heckling Williams and Swan with a minute or so left in the game. He's really doing his bit in turning the club's 'soft' culture from earlier years around.

I need to see it again but it looked as if he had connected with marley today he might be having a couple week spell.

Could he be in trouble with the sling tackle?

I don't think so. Pendlebury got up and kept playing. Had he been concussed, then Jack would be looking at weeks for sure.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
