Drove up yesterday,it's now 2 1/2 hours with the geelong bypass.

Noticed we now have some maturity in the ranks.

But still have players from the old regime, they will be gone in the next 2 years.

Watching on telly,i always think we dont pump the footy into the forwards quick enough{fear of the turnover},its also happened at the ground yesterday.

Watching on telly,it looks like we dont go for the quick exit when the oppo scores a point{yep it happens at the match live also}.

The youth list that everybody worried about for the past decade, seems to have been fixed and looks absolutely bright for the future.{dont panic, things are falling into place}.

Watching live,I appreciated the will to win and the hatred of losing a contest from certain players.

Spots in the team are not easy to get and will be tougher by years end,any bludgers look to be getting whittled out of the squad and trade time this year should see the list go to the next step.

The spine whilst not perfect, has the look of a top 8 team,

The mids need a bit more work and that will eventuate over the Pre and next draft.

All in all, very impressed with the team considering where we come from and what the coaching panel started with.

Pizza at Kardinia cafe on the way home 7/10{didnt get to wear the beanie}

No 31 is getting back to playing the footy we expect from him.

Glad you had a good day out, jazza. Didn't realise you were going to the game, or I would have arranged to meet up. As for the ball movement, my take on it was that when we did move it quickly, we looked so much better. However, there is a fine line between moving it quickly and bombing it in long, and we did plenty of that both this week and last. The sooner we ban Dunn from the kick-ins, the better.

Presumably Dunn is acting under some coaching/team directive. Don't think we need to change who takes the kick - Dunn has the tools to be a good kicker in with decent skills kicking it short and has the bomb in his arsenal when appropriate - just need to change the way we structure ourselves when we do it.

This problem is surely a very coachable one. That's probably why it's so frustrating that we seem to have sucked at it since forever.

Fair point, Nasher. It just seemed to me that when Watts took a couple, things happened a lot more in our favour, like the sequence that ended up with TMac's goal. Also, Salem back in the side will give as another very good kick-in kicker.

What has happened to Tyson? Made some awful errors and had little impact.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2024

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

Some veteran Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you the following observations from another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
