He would slot in immediately as our equal-best midfielder at least, and his all-round ability would bring our midfield very quickly to a more complete unit.

It would be enough for me to feel much more confident about our 2016 midfield, without needing to expect miracles of Brayshaw, Petracca, Stretch etc...

conca is a bit like toumpas - too slow, not skilled, insipid.

doesn't have the capacity to really run thru midfield, nor the defensively accountability to play half-back rebound role.

stuck in that awkward position of between being an outstanding junior talent and lacking the ability to convert that to the afl.

wouldn't go near him personally.

Unfortunately we have absolutely 0% chance of securing either Danger or Hannebury at seasons end.

Either would be a dream, but Danger is either off to the Cat's or staying in Adelaide (all the discussions/presentations with him took place over the off-season in early-mid January). Any talk of Danger going anywhere else than GFC/AFC is completely mis-guided and ill-informed. Geelong were extremely confident (95% - 99% sure) he'd make a decision to leave in Feb, however the odd's have gradually moved towards him staying due to the improvement in both the Crow's onfield performance and his relationship with senior members of the Crows.

The focus on improving the 'quality' and depth in our midfield is likely to be come from the interstate clubs (who are after greater opportunities at the MFC), with the goal of securing 1 free agent (who will assist with the development of our young mids).

Expect us to chase after a current CHF/CHB swingman with some experience at the end of the year.

You may know something, but either you or someone else is adding a fair bit of mayo to your synopsis.

Your figure of "95-99%" is pure fantasy.

Even if you believe it to be true, just think about it for a second.

How many players would make a decision on their future in Feb with a new coach coming in & an entire season to play out?

The $ will always be there for Danger.

Now one individual may have made that claim or come to your conclusion independently, whether it be a club official or an agent, etc. based on their own perception (or overactive imagination) but it is fantasy. The organisation itself and the key players involved did not have such belief.

And that's from multiple people deep inside the club.

They would like the appeal of a player like Howe, whose spectacular hangers will grab attention even in NSW media.

Coupled with our first pick, we could get some serious value.

I'd ask for Coniglio and Plowman.

A dream result, but I think a realistic thing to ask for too.

GWS won't dream of offering up Shiel, at reload or Devon Smith.

I expect them to offer Palmer to anyone who'll listen though.

Was injured through the pre-season and only started playing again in the ressies around 3 weeks ago....

We need mids mids mids mids and more mids. I anyone isn't convinced of that after what they have seen this year then they never will be...

With GWS having two quality kids in their academy, and with the new points system for academy selections they are going to need picks to trade to get these to academy kids...

I don't feel we need to cull another 9 players at the end of this year, just get in 3 quality mids (mature, established and potential)

So trading our 2nd, 3rd, 4th round picks to GWS may have more traction than trading players to them might.

I can understand the allure of Howe for some highlights and Garland as a solid medium defender.

Not sure what they would do with Dawes however, he'd be about fifth in line for a forward spot there
