Roos was ahead of the game last year. Even with a subpar team he knew how to strangle Hinkley's game plan.

Unsurprisingly the rest of the competition have caught on this year and Port simply haven't adapted to other teams' strategies. Wines being out appears a huge barometer to them, as Trengove did last year.

This will be closer than the pundits think.

Likely 10 changes from last year........mostly for the better it would seem....

Yes Jnr and only two will be missed

Would like to still have Jetta and Kent available

The rest are gone or NGE

PS not sure where JKH fits

Silly odds at 3.30 for the Melb win this week and 19:1 for a win over 39 points WTF!

Shhhhh.....

Yeah, add Hogan, Cross, Lumumba, Garlett, VandenBerg, Brayshaw, and the new-model Toumpas & Fitz ...

... and get "Benjamin" Newton to change sides.

Tho' Tyson & Jetta had great games, and Viney is also a big "out". And Spencer might not be as effective as Jamar against Lobbe & Ryder.

Interesting how many changes there are.

Damn, we came so close to going 2-0 at Adelaide Oval last year

Port are soft as butter. Massive chance this week..

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
