Biffen, what I can say is that he's currently mentoring Mitch in relation to this for life after football.

The Mitch Clark affect I think it's known as.

He's a great photographer also.

A real artist.

2014 PICK 10 - Nakia Cockatoo

Selwood was pick 7 and it helps that they had a heap of father and son picks that where late in the draft at the start of the 2000s that became superstars and made this super team that we all have grown to know.

Recruiting Mitch Clark.

What the hell does that have to do with their culture crumbling?

Another gutless Demonlander trying to sink the boots in hey? What a brave guy.

I don't think we are seeing Geelong's culture crumbling, but rather their best players getting close to the end of their careers.

They were a great group and can't easily be replaced.

Some have already gone and others are near the end. Hopefully we see the same with Hawthorn and Sydney, though Sydney keeps topping up with high draft academy picks.

Take a chill pill

Why? Cos I'm not another one of you heroes kicking a guy when he's down? So tough sniping a guy battling depression from the safety of your anonymous name behind a computer screen.

Sick of it.

You just seem hyper outraged Stuie (assuming that is your anonymous name). And the comment by Dazzle, was in respect to recruiting Mitch Clark, not his issues with depression.

Stuie is my real name "Return To Glory".

Oh, so it's bad for Geelong's culture to recruit a highly talented forward/ruck? Yeah, I'm sure that's what he meant.... Geezus.

This guy is always lurking waiting to seize the high moral ground as a chance to vituperate against fellow posters.

Do you suffer from depression Stuie?

You seem very concerned about Mitch Clark.

I think we have established that Mitch Clark the person, the one who got a clearance to change clubs on the basis of his workplace environment, has problems remaining true to his employers.

I don't see many attacking him purely on the basis of his mental frailties.

But yes, we love to put the boots into lying mercenaries.

Snipe a guy with depression on the internet.

Be proud, be very proud.

Off-field the culture is toxic, and as we all know the fish rots at the head.

Colin Carter has well-meaning intentions and is a good person, but I'm not sure of his capability in his role as president.

Cook is regularly heard commenting openly that he's sticking it out so he can hold the record as the longest serving club CEO in AFL/VFL history.

Whether serious or not, I don't think it sets a great example.

Players have recently been seen fingerpointing onfield during matches.

The quality and experience is not there any more, and a lot of the young talent is growing into eccentric prima donnas & upstarts with no one pulling them into like for their antics.

The culture is crumbling and rapidly, as far as I can see.

No no. We are trying to decipher why you think you are Jeff Kennett every time we discuss Clark.

It's just interesting.

If you think not being a weak sniping sniggering pathetic anonymous internet poster who takes pleasure out of kicking someone with depression behind the safety of their keyboard is taking the "high moral ground" then your moral ground must be considerably low.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
