Melbourne v Essendon @ Etihad Stadium - 20th March, 2015

What's more, if Frost wasn't unfairly penalised for the high. Then the 2 minutes later a 50 wasn't given for a dubious call of not giving the ball back, then two goals wouldn't have been scored and momentum might've been very different.

Said to myself when I logged on: "I thought that was below expectation but not that bad. I bet I log on to find slashed wrists everywhere."

Nasher, that first half was absolutely shithouse.

St Kilda beat them by 10 goals

I might just highlight some positives of my own, change the mood a bit.

Vandenberg seems a real goer, reckon we'll see him heaps this year.

Grimes for me seems to be a calming influence and like several things he's done.

Watts to looks like he'll be really dangerous. Seen him throwing his weight around a couple of time and really getting around the ground.

Dawes and Hogan are working right up the ground, like what this can offer. Its clear that Bail isn't added a crumbing influence up forward, you bring Kent or JKH in up there and lot of those rolling balls i50 are going to be pounced on.

12 - 7 scores

22-19 i50s

71 - 58 CP's

192 - 159 Possies

Can people actually contribute something constructive instead of these single words criticisms.

Clearly we have to work on decision making under pressure and finishing inside 50. To me, they're the major talking points from the first half.

You know I tried to put that spin on it too, but goi shouted down by everybody. If the second half doesn't improve however I will be shouting myself down too

Gawny will make the difference in the second halt

Vince comes in and adds some disposal class, I'd clear out Garland for Howe.

Garlett has been great too!

All those plonkers going on about VFL side. Zaharakis, Goddard, Chapman and Daniher are not VFL players. Geez whiz.

And the rest?

Nasher, that first half was absolutely shithouse.

For the first half of each quarter our midfield was well on top, but we couldn't capitalize. For some reason our last movement forward is always poor.

For the rest of the game it's just been well contested. At no stage have the opposition been on top and that is reflected on the scoreboard.

Said to myself at half time, "that was absolute rubbish but it wont take long for the apologists to rock up trying to polish a turd"

No-one's polishing any turds, it's just that some of us choose not to respond with one word dismissals and wrist-slashing.

It's a football match. We're not playing very well. There could be any number of reasons for that.

I take it this is not being streamed on the MFC website like last week. Anyone know?

Agree with most of what you sat here, however......

Easily countered by the scoreline which shows us struggling to get past a cobbled-together side where half havent even been told the game plan. Wake up.

Can get an AFL live pass and get 7 days free trial.

Agreed, but the opposition should be nowhere near on top. Shows how good Goddard and chapman really are.

A good reminder that while Hogan, Tyson, Frost, McDonald, Viney, Salem, Toumpas etc. are very much our future, they're still comparatively young, inexperienced players, prone to mistakes and poor decision-making.

At times.

Could one of those reasons be that we are still rubbish? Or are there other excuses Nash? This is just about our best possible team on the park.

Vandenburg has been very good I agree, will be elevated to replace Petracca.

Love Viney and Salems attack and Jones is busy being Jones (ie great).

Our forward 50 entries are again tripe, Dawes seems to work hard for little reward, Bombers are attacking the game and ball at full pace we are just going along again. We are too hesitant and reactive and keep selling our teammates into trouble.

It would want to improve in second half.

First goal of second half to guess who..? Yep we are now down by a goal.

Go Dees

The rest are running hard, and applying good tackles. Counts for a lot.

And our players aren't. Again.
