Start time as scheduled, sorry mate.

But Roosy said to say hi.

Cheers anyway mate. He's a good sort.

Let's not skirt around this. If treating it as a Rd 1 game and looking to win, with the side the Dogs are putting out, we should belt them.

Damn you.

Watts and Michie our subs. Must be easing Watts back into the team.

Stretch, Pedersen and Fitzy not paying.

Wallis, Boyd & picken out on top of murphy and libba... God help us if we don't win this with a near full strength side

With the players they have out already I just don't get why they would rest others. Surely a club like the Dogs would want to get some momentum going into the season...? They aren't in a position to gamble.

They either don't rate us or they want to avoid any injuries at all costs. Sub VFL team they're putting out.

Yey, there is going to be a membership and merchandise stand at the Creswucj Rd end of the ground

Total waste of time & money - if anybody's serious about membership they can turn up tomorrow!!!

(Is there an emoticon for "tongue in cheek"??)

I think the Libba injury has caused major jitters. They simply can't afford another injury to a key player. They couldn't afford it BEFORE Libba went down. They will cop a pounding if it means some run in the legs of their youngsters and no serious injuries.

it's the NAB Challenge, it is Roos' choice to put out a near full strength team, not the other way around, same as Freo did last week as well

Yeah that's a fair point. I would like to see us play a close to full strength Dogs side, as we face the Bombers next week who aren't AFL standard either, but these are prep games after all. Another run for us, regardless of the opposition, can only be a good thing for us.

Sort of generic funky type thing, mine is hiccupping unfortunately

Yeah, by tremendous I actually meant horrendous.

can't get it to stream on my pc. I guess i'll have to listen to pickering and hutchison on sen. i hate listening to these fools!

We're already ahead in the banner contest this year, doggies didn't bother with one today.

commentators - hutchy and pickering, good grief - just announced that hogan is out?

edit: they've just said he's in. i was sure i'd seen him in the warm up too.

as i said...good grief.

The commentry is already hilarious and the game hasn't even started.

They have no idea that it's being streamed online. And they're saying Hogan isn't out there, yet he's slotting goals.

... They just corrected it, managed to spot him.

It's not exactly stunning HD. Which pixel is Hogan?

Good god the commentary is killing me already.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
