Has anyone made a pledge to the club? Personally I think it is a ridiculous way to raise money, our 4 wins in 2014 would of just covered the cost to set up the idea and pay for advertising.

I did it last year- obviously didn't have to hand over a stack of money.

Didn't mind at all; after each win I was in such a good mood they could have taken 1000 and I wouldn't have cared.

Would it be something you would do again, or just a one off thing?

Personally I think it's ridiculous trying to degrade the names of international AFL players.

Bit of topic there mate, msg me if you like.

I would have thought being loyal to a bottom team for over 8 years would have be enough of a pledge?!

Every club has their little cash grabs.

Geelong and some other clubs I believe used to ask members to pay before the season started to enter the pool for grand final tickets.

The club has nothing to lose by asking.

Don't like the idea at all. It is based on the premise that the players need extra incentives in order to win.

If that's the case we're stuffed.

Huh? I think you took a wrong turn on that logic journey...

It's based on the desire to make money out of people who will literally pay to see us win a few games. I would pay to see us win a game, repeat it 12 times a season and play more than 22 games a season.

So why don't we support a team like Hawthorn, their supporters get to watch the team win for free....whoever thought of this idea should be ashamed of themselves and the I feel sorry for the people who have supported this idea, sure their hearts are in the right place, but it's a poor way to raise money.

I think that MFC fans can leave their righteous indignation of money making practices to when we are a little more settled financially and on field.

We are bankrolled at the moment by pokies.

The moral adjustments my mind has to make are quite gymnastic when it comes to the MFC.

Nothing new used to do it in ND was coaching was not a issue back then, when we used to win 12 games a year, nothing wrong with it not as if the clubs got a gun to your head, don't know what you all want the club to do get rid of pokies, and just rely on memberships, it's funny most of the posters on thin site, I hate wingers no matter what the club does thy pot them, hawthorn have over 60000 members but they sell more games then anyone in history and make the most out of pokies, they say they are a family club but do nothing in the community, every thing the Dees get potted on no one says a thing about the evils of hawthorn, hawthorn have been given everything for nothing, all started in the days of zoning when parts of our zone was given to hawthorn, then they got given Waverly for nothing, they get lots of foot traffic at the shopping centre, they never earned anything just given to them.

Take a breath, mate. And I am not saying get rid of them, I just don't like them - I wish the club didn't need them.

It is a donation to the club since winning is what the side is paid to do anyway.

That said, I signed up on day 1 and hope it costs me a packet, though somehow, like last year, I may get out of this deal cheaply.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
