Annual General Meeting

For us to make finals in 2016, we're going to have to improve a hell of a lot from 2014. Logically, that would mean 2015 will be a significant improvement on our recent seasons.

How anyone could say that this year will be a write off clearly has no idea.

Re my comment on the Casey agreement, when it was announced and published on the Club Website in 2008, it said it was a 10 year agreement, we have supporters bemoaning the lack of information from the club, and when it is provided don't read it, I thought it was a well know fact, why I don't join in with the topics about the alignment, perhaps I should have and stopped them dead till 2018, my bad........also believe the bus was a write off

I was not "bemoaning a lack of information from the club" Saty

I did not know and I thought the question last night provided some useful information.

I am the more knowledgeable as a result of the question.

I normally don't listen to any thing Greg Denham says....BUT....This morning I happened to listen to him on KB's show.

He stated that the only reason MFC posted a profit was that they had sacked half of their staff and the "profit" was misleading the members.

When asked if he had read the financials, he stated that he didn't need to and that he knew the truth of the matter.

Now I don't know a lot about businesses or how they are run, but I do know that if you have too many staff and have to down size it would be prudent to cut those staff.....Which I think is good business practice.....Is it not????

Denham is the embodiment of "that guy" everyone knows at least one of: barracks for Hawthorn, knows everything that is wrong with the lowly clubs, has an opinion on everything, and has a mouth permanently open with ears permanently closed.

He's paid to be an angry, thoughtless moron and does a wonderful job of it.

Me too.

Something else I learned last night which may have been common knowledge for others is that the new Casey coach is on the MFC payroll.

Spot on old dee. I'm in the same boat; I didn't know either. Judging by the response it would seem plenty didn't. Most of us don't read every letter of every bit of information the club publishes, or necessarily take it all in or remember it if it wasn't important to us at the time. 2008 was a long time ago.

It's only become topical now because the relationship has gone to custard, hence the question. It's exactly what AGMs should be for - getting clarity on points that members are concerned about.

A perfect analysis. Could not have said it better myself. Let's not give the F Wit anymore oxygen on this forum at least.

That wasn't aimed at anybody in particular OD, just heard it to many times, I read absolutely everything and ask questions if I can't find the answer

If anybody needs a question asked, I am more than willing to try and get an answer, got the answer before Xmas about why we can't have advertising around Goschs

Pretty sure he was talking about Denham there Saty.

Me too.

Yes I have a problem with my internet, I use notepad to type and then paste, mixed up topics, and notepads, deleted the post,

Me too

I wasn't having a go at those who asked the questions OD, I was pleased, apart from the first person, we had some really good questions, but I thought most of the answers were known, I was wrong, I am afraid I am sponge when it comes to information, can never get enough, and go looking for it

Nah, it is one of the things we agree on, thinking of building an app for a phone, tells people when to empty their bowels on a regular basis, a lot of people these days seem to need to be told to do everything, it will be called "give me the [censored]"...bugger it censored my joke s"""s

Apart from supporting Hawthorn, this apt description could also apply to Robbo of Hun journalistic fame.

Also. Re the finals prediction. As I recall everyone thought Glenn McGrath was a dick the first time he made a 5 nil series prediction against England.

Just remembered a Comment by ROOSY.

It proves he reads Demonland.

One must know everything about the MFC Old or be prepared for a Saty spray...Dam you for not reading an article on the website from 2008

To the naughty corner immediately.....

i thought we were locked in for 30 years as well....Thankfully we can get out in a few years and just use the fitness center and pool over summer to satisfy the city of....:)

At the end of the day ..we have heard words from many an administration/coach over the years. They mean little to me - action not words. Whilst the "actions" of Roos and co haven't translated into a meteoric rise up the ladder I am feeling more bullish than I ever have before.

It's a minor point to quibble over but I think it's important to realise it's not you or I or any of the other diehards that could be affected by these comments, we'll sign up and turn up anyway. It's the supporters who may only go once a year or those who dropped off the membership list 4 or 5 years ago who might hear it and think "why bother this year?"

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.

The Demons lacked some polish but showed a lot of heart and took it right up to the Bulldogs in an attempt to spoil their finals hopes ultimately going down by a goal at the MCG.
