Thought it was pretty obvious he only wanted to get to Qld, i copped some criticism for that post too

That post was just 'I think' and 'I believe'. It was just rehashing journo BS.

And this:

If we sign him up to what will be a huge long term contract, we will have to worry about him asking for a trade to Brisbane at the end of every season'

just says you know squat.

I hate indulging your contributions, but sometimes you make it too hard to resist.

You predicted nothing in that post. You just repeated alot of the hesitations others had but added one of your typical gross exagerrations: "he will request a trade back to Brisbane at the end of EVERY SEASON". No doubt this is what attracted criticism, because it's completely idiotic.

You then have the hide to label others "morons" for speculating on Beams coming to the club.

Grow up for heaven's sake.

I can't believe people are even buying in and wasting their time with this "riddle" crap.

Just a bit of fun. I don't think you can blame some of our supporters for dreaming a bit and getting excited by it all.

The emus formed a football team

Up Walgett way;

Their dark-brown sweaters were a dream

But kangaroos would sit and scream

To watch them play.

"Now, butterfingers," they would call,

And such-like names;

The emus couldn't hold the ball

- They had no hands - but hands aren't all

In football games.

A match against the kangaroos

They played one day.

The kangaroos were forced to choose

Some wallabies and wallaroos

That played in grey.

The rules that in the West prevail

Would shock the town;

For when a kangaroo set sail

An emu jumped upon his tail

And fetched him down.

A whistler duck as referee

Was not admired.

He whistled so incessantly

The teams rebelled, and up a tree

He soon retired.

The old marsupial captain said,

"It's do or die!"

So down the ground like fire he fled

And leaped above an emu's head

And scored a try.

Then shouting, "Keep it on the toes!"

The emus came.

Fierce as the flooded Bogan flows

They laid their foemen out in rows

And saved the game.

On native pear and Darling pea

They dined that night:

But one man was an absentee:

The whistler duck - their referee -

Had taken flight.

GNF is this going somewhere? Like i'm not complaining about the riddles, I actually really enjoy watching people try and figure them out, but is there a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow once these riddles are solved?

Posted

Pot of gold will be Petracca and Brayshaw

Would rather Brayshaw and Dangerfield.

I'd be happy with either scenario (though slightly attracted to B&P developed into two superstars by Roos!

Based on the riddles Parker and Hannebery? If one of them knocks it back Mitchell as a back up?

Edit:

Justification -

2 players who would walk in as the best players on our list (or at least close enough to be). If one of them falls through it leaves the less experienced, likely A-grader in Mitchell.

Comes in black and white but not a little bird - Sydney - although just as easily could be the power(b&w jumper), the eagles(big bird in b&w) and less likely the crows, the bulldogs and the cats, all come in b&w and are not little birds (crows aren't much bigger than magpies though...)

Tick tock, black mouse, electric clock. Lancelot, feathers and fur, bidding of his sir.

I'm completely thrown by the Lancelot reference (could be the white knight/ could be finding the holy grail/ could be bonking his masters wife...), however I believe that this is referencing deals that we are waiting on. Someone going to the power and Mitch Clark (He was the white knight at one point) waiting for us to trade him to the cats or hawks/pies?

Building upon this/ thinking aloud, we offered up a combination of 3,23 and players for the two, but with trade ban we are now searching for picks to use instead of players. We could have thrown up watts(outside class to replace malceski), 3 and 23, possibly a toumpas/ trengove type as well. Now they can't take players it'll be 3, a first rounder we receive from port and Geelong/ hawks/ pies 2nd rounder.

if we hear nothing tomorrow I think it ll be safe to assume we ll be bringing in no gun players

Tell me why it is safe to assume that ?

You were still horribly wrong about Roos coming so you are still in the red.

It's looking more and more likely Trengove will be walking over to Punt road today and so far we've got nothing to show for it but stupid riddles and a shaky promised from GNF that we're 'probably' getting a really good player or two out of this, that none of us or anyone else can work out or catch wind of who that might possibly be.

Christ, Melbourne what the hell are you doing...

Keeping their intentions secret and not leaking..... if the club moves Trengove for pick 12 its for one of 2 reasons, his foot is shot (unlikely) or we need 12 to finalise a much bigger trade. Big enough to weather the storm of letting a popular player like him go ( i dont want to see him go given his loyalty to the club).

Legs, do you seriously think they are going to tell anyone until it is done?

I prefer that they deliver a fait de complet Sloan & Tex for 3 and Trengove.

And yet not one person outside of the club has managed to catch wind of who that might be? I find that hard to believe. If his foot was shot Richmond would not be interested.

Did he not say "unlikely"?
