GOODBYE MITCH CLARK

I would hope that the AFL's solution to this is simply to hold him to his contract. If they declare that he is still our list then he's still contracted for another 2-3 years. That would give us the upper hand in trading him and prevent him from going either to the draft of the FA pool. If he chooses to walk away from his contract then the standard two year ban applies. See if anyone will take him at 28 when he hasn't played for three years. Not only is that a club playing hardball, but it is actually fair to all parties.

Im almost touched by the empathy of other club's supporters

I tell you what, if that happens I'm going to get the photo of Jimmy and him blown up and take it to the game, hang it off a gap in the advertising when he plays in Melbourne.

I highly doubt he'll care if this is the case. Highly doubt it.

Fear not demonlanders, the only way Mitch will get onto the list of a successful club is if a trade can be worked out that works for both parties. He is still on our list and I highly doubt we would delist him in any circumstance other than permanent retirement. We will know soon enough whether he will plat for the MFC next year, be traded to another club or enter via the draft.

It all depends on how we signed off when he left.

Let's not jump to conclusions.

At the moment Clark deserves more respect and trust than that.

If however he goes and plays for another Melbourne club, it will be the epitome of betrayal and will render him one of the most hated players in the game.

bob each way huh Jaded..

honestly..... ffs

Wasn't next year the last year of his contract though?

Nice guys finish second last. Go the throat on this one please Jacko/Mahoney.

If he were to despicably defect then the next game against him ought to produce thousands and thousands of pics of Jimma in the crowd !!!

let him be in no misinterpretation of our view.

ahah someone bloody ripped my post off here and posted it on big footy!

Was me. Was a good post. Didn't want to post where it was from so we can avoid schaudenfreude from the opposition.

Yes, 2015 was his last year.

We should rescind the offer to pay him out after October 31 this year and hold him to his contract.

Sounds to me that he's been saying one thing and doing / planning another.

Brisbane and Freo, as noted up thread, also said he was duplicitous in his dealings when we swooped in at the last minute.

He must have a shocking character if all this scuttlebutt is true.

You'd like to think that Clark and/or his connections would get on the front-foot pronto to clarify the situation.

The way the media reporting currently reads it portrays him as lower then a snakes belly.

Let's hope perception is not reality.

We've given them 13 minutes since Barrett went off .this is a matter of national importance!

in reality hes had a lot longer than that.

Whoever noted the docking of "11'" from his tweet nic saw the door opening to this abyss.

None of this is a 5 min decision. What we see is the public performance played out . The scripts been written for some time.

The rage is not just coming from MFC members but all AFL fans I hope Clark has good think about what his doing before he goes and sh$$$ in our face. Bad form

Maybe GNF was quite right. Going on Mahoney's comment about wanting Mitch to talk to the Club about his plans first, then it looks as if he may have blindsided the Club. If Mitch changed position doesn't mean GNF was wrong/misinformed.

Mitchs latest tweet

the girl removed her tweet though, anyone know what she said?

What worries me about this is the fact that he's changed his Twitter name from MitchClark11 to mitchjclark.

Mightn't want the pressure of wearing no 11 again.

I will give Clark the benefit of the doubt until he makes a statement.

Could be insinuating he is leaving as not to compromise our possibility of getting a PP.

Can anyone tell from his twitter feed when it happened?

The whole homesick thing was a farce when he decided to come to the MFC for cash rather then actually going home.

This could look very bad...

I can go you one better. Everything off his Instagram pre-July is deleted. Including the thanks to all the Melbourne supporters.

U would think that if he was to return to footy it would be with the Dees.

It would be a simple transition with our club.

If he comes back through another Melb based club that would put much more pressure on him and considering he left because he was depressed this extra attention wouldn't help IMO.

It doesn't make sense.

I really feel sick about this. Just wrong on so many levels

Well that's just weird.

I do have one theory, is it possible his account got hacked and he had to change his name?

It happened to me with Twitter where all of a sudden lots of weird stuff started appearing in my feed and I had to change my name and password.

I am probably clutching at straws here.
