Disagree. We dont have talent. But you don't need talent to run, tackle and put pressure on oppornents. Its about intent and we gave up. It was pathetic. the third quarter was a train crash.

They didn't try. Watch the replay. Watch what happens when we have the ball. Static. No movement. Nothng to do with talent.

I dont think we have so much more talent than last year - the difference when we have played well this year is not the skill level or hitting up targets - its been the intent. The intent was missing on Sunday

I hate fans who bag players at the game. Can't stand it. I didn't boo but have no issue with those who did as it was not about bagging players it was pure angst directed at everything mfc. I was more furious than I ever been, indeed I do believe I was quoted in Sam Edmund's match summary

I booed. I turn up every week, go interstate sometimes too and after 7 years of delivering putrid, horror performances, they still continue and even under Paul Roos.

Absolute silence, as JJC suggests, does bugger all. It doesn't show that there's passion, it doesn't show that there's pride, it doesn't show there's pain. I'd beg to differ that booing a team off is booing the jumper. That argument holds no water at all. You're clearly booing the blokes that just defiled the jumper and the club. Show us you're giving your all, otherwise you won't get any encouragement from me. Play for the bloody club, not for yourselves.

Silence can be very effective indeed. Ask the fieldsman who in the space of 30 minutes has put down three regulation catches. Dropped catch 1. "Bad luck mate!" Dropped catch 2. "[censored] mate that was a sitter!" (The equivalent of a boo), Dropped catch 3. SILENCE absolute silence. That deadly response is numbing and you look for a hole in the ground to swallow you up. Ask me, that fieldsman was me!

I don't boo during games. I don't even boo the opposition. Cursing the umpires is about as far as I go when they commit an outrage. But at the last game it just sounded so appropriate and well deserved. The team thoroughly deserved the baking.

The issue I have with silence is that it ignores the fact there is a winning team with winning fans cheering, a PA system blaring the winning team's song, scoreboards trumpeting the winning team's win, winning players running around the ground and high-fiveing their supporters, the winning team's supporters and cheer squad applauding and cheering them, radio commentary chattering through the winning team's stats......

You get the picture.

Silence is filled and drowned out. There is no silence. A silent, cold stare is not effective when the targets avert their eyes as they walk down the race. The only thing that actively breaks through to the LOSING team is something as audible, sustained, identifiable, amplified, consistent and disapproving as a boo.*

*I was at the game. I was there until the end and well after. I was near the GWS cheer squad and copped their antics all day. I wasn't anywhere near the Dees players as they walked off. I don't think I have ever booed a team I support. If I was near the players race, I don't know if I would have booed. But I support the rights of those who booed and expressed their displeasure in ways I was not capable of at the time. I just trudged out, shattered, in silence.

I left 10 minutes into the third. I knew it was going to get butt ugly after Devon Smith (?) shrugged off that Melbourne tackler and kicked the goal that put them five up. I know when to remove myself from situations that will inspire an ugly reaction and moved away from it.

I have avoided Demonland this week as well as much as possible for these reasons.

As for booing, I fully understand. However, it would be interesting to see how many people indicated to the club that they were not renewing their memberships for 2015 after that Giants debacle?

I haven't been to a game this year & probably won't next year as well, but I will take another membership again for 2015 as a donation to the club, & it will serve as a key if I decide to go to one.

but again I emphasize my aversion is All about the game today, & not the Demons.

the AFL has to return this game back to 2003 standards, or slowly the game will drop in melbourne.
