With every game he is picking up the pace better and better, he doesn't have the natural football smarts that Oliver does (few in the AFL do) but he more than plays his role.

Clint, Billy has the footy smarts, trust me. He might not have the grunt of Oliver, but few youngsters do.

As an aside that goal review was one of the worst decisions I've seen - that third umpire should be banished. The decision went against all the principles of a review .

Hope someone raises how it happened and seek an explanation.

Yep. The review is suppose to show definitive evidence and not possible. In Petraccas example it was possible the ball was touched but not definitive. It was a rubbish review.

Possibly robbed him from a rising star nom also.

Was a joke of a decision.

Trac-man is showing the signs we all thought he would show. So exciting.

As soon as he realises he doesn't have to play on at every opportunity, the better.

No doubts about him though.

A player you want in finals.

I was talking about Petracca, but I agree Stretch is very good young player, so clean and composed as others have mentioned.

We've all lamented we lacked grunt in the team for years.  Ollie and Truck  have gone a long way to swinging that back into the positive :)

As they grow and settle ....they will be intimidating

Am I the only one who doesnt really care if we dont have that many nominations? 2 or 3 are plenty.

I was more thinking we could go for the record in a single season.

I then discovered that GWS have the record with 8 in 2012! Interestingly 2 of those nominations were D Tyson and T Bugg.

I agree with all the comments about Ollie and CP  and the next three weeks will give us even a better understanding on how good they will be.Port, Hawks and the Filth will be putting in some added homework on how to nullify these two and also Stretch.

Honestly the guys is an average player.

I mean four points from four shots.

First player up for trade at the end of the year!!

According to the Fox commentary team, the Lions player who claimed he had touched it was already back in the centre waiting for a bounce to restart play when the 'behind' decision was announced.  Go figure ........

Just a slight permeation of AFL bespoke "umps if Brissie are close enough for a sniff at any stage in the game give them a little fillip" yesterday. They weren't!!!

Can imagine "The Girlie Man" talk at AFL Headquarters this morning. "Blah Blah Blah but they weren't even close enough anyway".

1 game too many. Has to have played 10 games or less in the previous season.

How many did Stretch start as sub? Time to bust out the asterisks.

Yep. Has to be conclusive to be overturned,  it was anything but.  While we're on that,  the whole review system is a farce- the cameras don't shoot at a high enough frame rate to show any reply with any degree of accuracy -  every replay is a blur and inconclusive.  It's all just guesswork.  Upgrade your cameras and review system AFL you tightarses

Possibly a "square up" for the deliberate free that went to Chunk in the first quarter? Makes more sense than the stupid review ... :)

Yep - and the only vision that is close to accurate is the goal line one to see if a ball is touched/marked before or over the line (see Tippett example from Friday). But the amateur AFL won't even fork out to ensure the goal post cameras are installed at every ground! What a farce.

But Gil lowered the price of pies.

How many things do you expect him to get on top of Dr?

You are very demanding.

If this was the Hawks playing the Pies on Friday evening things would be done.

It was the dees versus the Lions on sunday arvo on Foxtel.

The AFL attitude is no one will notice or care.

Next subject.
