Always enjoy a good whinge about umpires. Here's another one:

Why on earth do they always take time and breath to indicate that they are going to move backwards when they do a ball-up? They always go back on a line perpendicular to their bum and the the vague wave they do doesn't indicate that any better then just standing there. Do the players really need to be told?

Been meaning to bring this up for a while 'sue'...I've played, coached and watched a lot of footy and have never seen an umpire ball the ball up or bounce it down and run forward.

It's just redundant to indicate they are going to back out after throwing the ball up or bouncing it down. Of course the backwards movement comes from the bounce down. Try and move forward after you bounce it down and you will look pretty stupid.

I assume you are only joking, nonetheless I strongly disagree that it's ever appropriate to call umpires that. Especially when at most levels, they're doing it in their own time.

The afl should stop pussyfooting around with female footy and put all the eggs into female umpires.

At country level our umps are getting older and less every year.

The females that want to be involved in footy is growing and we need to put all money set aside for female footy{bugger all} and pump it into female umps.

At every level umps get abused,but not when they are sheilas,Besides there isnt enough girls and leagues at country level to support female footy.

BTW never complained about an ump and never will.The parameters are set by the league.
