How to install a profile photo

I used to have one on here ( my golden retriever) .. not sure how I got it uploaded , but it disappeared somewhere along the way, and now as a simple , ageing , but loveable Demonland member of many years standing , I'm asking for someone to explain , in the simplest language possible , how I can have a profile photo of my choice , reinstalled.

Scroll up to the top of the screen.

On the right hand side next to the search bar will be your display name.

Click on your display name and then click on 'My Profile'

Once the new window opens you will be able to see a large square picture on the left hand side of the screen which be your current picture.

Hover over this and you will see an option to click 'change' in the top left hand corner of the picture.

Yes, I've been able to get to that stage, and even pressed the button to change to a custom photo but then a reference appears that says the 'file selected is too large'.

What next?

first scale the pic down

iirc about 160 x 120 pixels.......someone else may remember better

otherwise experiment till it fits
