whatwhat say what 23,852 Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Why is Toumpas continuing to flounder? He was a far better player at sanfl level three years ago than he's showing at vfl level with afl development happening. Very disappointed.
Ted Lasso 19,586 Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I reckon his confidence took a huge hit last year, I have faith roosy will get him going again

Sounds like Kent get's a game for the Dees this week. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2014-06-11/vfl-player-review-round-nine Sounds like Jimmy T has a lot of work to do! Tapscott needs to develop his outside game, apparently. Blease still having brain fades. Oh well our depth is very limited with so many first and second rounders we have on our list, either injured or not getting a game.
What 18,810 Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 11 possessions for Toumpas, dear god Riley and Kent in vs the Bombers

CBDees 3,167 Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 VFL player review's up. Sounds like Kent get's a game for the Dees this week. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2014-06-11/vfl-player-review-round-nine Actually, from the review it sounds equally likely that we will see McKenzie in the side with 23 possessions in a half of football! Dean Kent: Dean had 22 possessions. He played half-forward and wing. It was a really solid performance from Kenty this week. He played with good speed and power. He kicked the ball much better than he has in previous weeks in poor conditions. Dean also finished with three goals, which was a major impact on the game. Jordie McKenzie: Jordie had 23 possessions. He played on ball and it was a typical McKenzie game. He was hard and tough around the stoppages. Jordie only played half a game, before he was removed to be the carry over emergency for the Queen’s Birthday game. He’s been in good form and continues to put his name up in front of the selection committee.

Sounds like Kent get's a game for the Dees this week. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2014-06-11/vfl-player-review-round-nine Kent, McKenzie, Evans and perhaps Nicholson* seem to be the players ready to be considered for senior selection based on these reviews. It's been said before, but I really like the infomation we are given in these profile reports. *The comments about Nicholson are ambiguous. It's unclear whether the comment "He has been in better form over the past few weeks..." is intended to mean he was better before this game or including this game - it makes a big difference to where the coaches might have him in the queue for senior selection.
rpfc 29,023 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 I think McKenzie, Riley and Kent are chances. But that's it for this week.
binman 44,813 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 I think McKenzie, Riley and Kent are chances. But that's it for this week. I thought Blease might be a chance but not on that review. Roos won't make any more than 2 changes, indeed on form perhaps will only make the one. Mckenzie and Kent seem to be the two most likely to go up. I think JKH and Salem will get dropped - with JKH perhaps the more likely of those to to go down.
TeamPlayedFine39 8,525 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Brett Allison certainly seems to have cheered-up this week - I'm sure the players are relieved! Dean Kent is an outstanding prospect - great speed, kick and attack on the footy. I expect him to remain in the seniors when he finally does break through. Great to see that Jordie and Pigdog are maintaining some good form and keeping the pressure on the midfielders in the seniors. I have high hopes for Viv but his last quarter fade-out suggests he hasn't regained full match fitness following his (jaw) injury. Viv and Riley will need this season and next preseason to build a real fitness base to attack 2015 at full speed after having such a bad run with injuries over the past year (several years in Viv's case).
