Perhaps it should read '1 - Todd Viney's sperm'.

Well he is "fluid" in his motion, and we are talking about a "ball" game.

Recent history would suggest just being in the vicinity of Jack Viney whilst wearing opposition colours causes serious injury.

Incorrectly naming him in a match report...

the consequences are almost unfathomable.

More interesting than a typo is that one coach thought Howe was BOG and the other thought he was second best. That wasn't reflected in the voting for the Demonland POTY votes.

If anyone can be bothered, it would be an interesting exercise to compare the coaches votes with the Brownlow votes and the Demonland votes at the end of the year. It would demonstrate the real difference in perspective between the fans, the umpires and the coaches.

lol Go Todd

On a related note, the Father - Son rule has to be the best rules in any sport in the world and a massive credit to the AFL for conceiving it

Its great to have that connection to the team from earlier generations, Todd Viney was a lot of peoples favorite player back in his day and he was a real heart and soul player for us a long time and a great skipper

and now we have the please of watching his son play for us

Nice use of the word "conceiving"

Actually... If what I have read is true Melbourne actually lobbied the then VFL to create the Father/Son rule.

Carlton were the first to actually benefit from it.

Later, one Ronald Dale Barrassi Jr was recruited via this rule.

Anyone able to confirm?

And the B&F.

Of course, the different voting systems blur the outcome. Doesn't the MFC B&F give players a mark from the Senior Coach and some or all assistant coaches (or Match Committee?) from 1 to 7 for each game played? So a player who had the worst day imaginable, but was out there, will get votes under that model.

You have to feel sorry for the other sperm that competed with Jack on the road to their mum's egg. They never had a chance.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
