and Red that will have absolutely no relevance to  Jay's ability to get back on the paddock  ( for starters ) , consistently  and into the 22

That was not my point BB.

Isn't SPC's avatar Nathan Brown?

Correct Nasher, my boo boo. On a closer look it is Doggy Brown, not Harmes though they look similar.

I would feel safer if his two best mates were better players..

Harsh call on harmes!

(Yes, spc's avatar is doggie brown)

I like JKH cos he has a crack but he's not good enough. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I'd be looking at re-launching his acting career if I were him.

Gotta feel for the lad as it seemed like he was in contention for a rd 1 spot. It's going to be really hard for him to work his back into the team halfway through the season but best of luck to him.

Jay has plenty of talent and is only a 24 yo . Playing for Casey last season he  strung a number of games together and produced his best form by becoming a ball magnet with 30 plus possessions in games and ended up playing a number of games for Dees. IMO  he handled himself well and deserved his promotion.

I hope that he does receive the 2 year extension where it will give Jay confidence .He deserves it.

Rookie List possible Depending upon how last half of year goes.

Hope he can get through as I really feel he has improved since mid-season 2018.

Deserves a break of luck.

Feel for the kid with this injury, as it seems like he's been working hard to break back into the ones. As said above, he racks up massive possessions at Casey but just can't seem to help fading away in the Dees.

I consider JKH mostly pointless from a list perspective, but skip back just one page and everything being said now has been said before. Someone mentioned he'd been on our payroll for more than half a decade, and when framed like that it's quite the jolt. He's survived longer than pick 4 Jimmy Toumpas.

We have no room for sentiment anymore - unless he comes back with a vengeance this year, there will be no extension.

Not sure why you added the "pick 4" bit. Adds nothing.

It adds 'pick 4'

Ladies and Gentlemen ...you can't keep them all.

For all his efforts, and credit to the lad he's given it a good go, he at his best is among our top 30. perhaps. He has lots of competition from some with more upside and more tricks in the bag.

Skuit sums up... it's all been said before.

I wish the bloke a full and speedy recovery but just don't see him as being a keeper.

Cheers

To me JKH is an improver this year. He just misses jumping through to that edge of hardness in my book, and i think it's just around the corner. Good luck for the rest of his season. If i was his coach i would be making him wanted, because i know it helps.

I thought he was a chance for round 1. His JLT form was quite reasonable. While he is not in the best 22 he is a good depth player and deserves his place on the list. I hope he comes back strong.

Hopefully Nev mark 2

Like Harmes, JKH has improved each season.   Not by huge margins, but significant anyway.

He has two way running and a tank, but isn't fast or particularly damaging. In general he is competing with ANB or the wings, however the 6 6 6 may mean pace on the wing becomes an important weapon, rather than playing a defensive winger. Also, with Lever back, we may be even less inclined to play a defensive winger because he is such a good reader of the play.

The was a role for him last year

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
