Forward pocket at city end south.

I was at the opposite end sue, in the old southern stand Richmond end.

Would you believe standing room.

We were there when the gates opened, saw the under 19's then reserves GF's

I was at the game in the members.....I nearly had a heart attack at the tender age of 13

I was a bit older Bossdog and after we had towelled them up in the 2nd Semi I could not believe it.

I can still remember as though it was yesterday my Dad saying.

It ain't over yet son these are the Demons.

Cannot in my wildest dreams imagine saying that now!

I was in Row A section Q12?

It was down near the cricket practice wickets on the Half Forward flank Southern Stand.

Dad wanted to leave after Gabo almost put us to he sword.

Just a couple of minutes dad "I said"

It's about the only time he said OK.

I was able to see froggy hook the ball from CHF and seal the filths hopes once again.

Singing the song has never been prouder. (I was 14)

I was up-country and listened-in on my 6 transistor AWA Radiola pocket transistor radio.

Same age as WJ. I sat on the roof of our two-storey home with the same radio listening to the wondrous second-semi.

I was in me fathers testicles (he was 13 going on 14) where I stayed until the Kilkenny Beer Festival of 1971 when I moved address for 9 months to my mother

Yep mine too - and my dad was 9.

Pups

Behind the goals Jolimont end standing area, couldn't get a seat. I was by myself, I didn't have any friends that supported Melbourne.

In attendance along with 102468 others, Old Southern Stand, Punt Road end, HFF.

Did any of you that attended also attend the R17 game at Glenferrie that year that saw Hassa Mann snap a goal to put is into the finals? I've recently received timecoded vision of the last few minutes of that game, nothing to write home about but it's good to see some of those guys especially Barassi and Mann who were only really names and pictures on a page come to life. The quality is pretty decent and it includes Hassa's goal to put us in front. When I have the time and can figure out how I'll upload to youtube and link it here for you.

I was glued to the transistor in my parents home in Dorset Road, Croydon (I was 12).

Thank you, would love to see that vision again.

I was there that day with my brother, Carlton supporter, and I thought we would bolt in, we had a really strong wind blowing our way in the last and I thought it was a matter of time, Hawthorn were only about 9 points in front if i remember correctly. I started to get a little concerned and was nearly having a heart attack by the time Hassa kicked the winning goal.

Sitting between wing and hff southern stand city end. Felt wretched after Gabolich's run, elated after Froggy's kick. Grave doubts I'll ever see us in that position again. I think I'll be long gone.

My grandmother was there with my dad and two aunties.they had premiership fatigue.unimaginable.

My dad was 24,mum was 19.

Mum was a shinboner who lived in Arden st.

I was at the opposite end sue, in the old southern stand Richmond end.

You never know gs.

I certainly hope so

Perhaps we can do it in a few years time.

Not sure it will be to easy to get our wheel chairs together, I will be the one with the red and blue blanket.

Will keep my red eye out for you and raise my thermos.

I was 15, spent the afternoon at a friends place who wasn't interested in football, late in the afternoon heard the result on the radio. Watched all the footy show that night in high excitement. Every footy club pie night I went to for the next few years showed the last quarter...still waiting for a repeat before I die...

I was glued to the transistor in my parents home in Dorset Road, Croydon (I was 12).

did you know the Dykes of Croydon ?

Know a few here in Sydney, but don't recall the name in Croydon. Any idea what street they lived in...it's a pretty big suburb (we were near the golf course).

They live in Northcote and Castlemaine these days but I am guessing he is discussing some some of water works.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
