Help us make decisions about our club

Look, for a marketing guy, I'm a good lawyer!! I have no idea about marketing, but I just don't get that a logo is likely to make one iota of difference to our brand. I would have thought marketable players, winning, presence in growth corridors and at schools and incentivising new members is the main game, not having an emblem and a logo.

If it actually would help attract more members if we had a simple demon logo or whatever, then I say go for it!

Of course those things are key (I should add I'm no marketing/PR guy usually that stuff makes me sick but in this situtation I'll make an exception) but I would've thought when looking to expand our supporter base a logo/emblem is the thing that catches the eye/attention and gets people looking at your "product" a bit more closely. What they see after that will determine if they become a supporter/customer or not.

Well it does have a Trident in the Image.

A devil's pitchfork is called a trident, blivet, widget as well as a poiuyt.

How many Knew that ?

It is an undecipherable figure, an optical illusion and an impossible object.

Pretty much sums up the Dees .

What id really like to see though is the Dees sticking that trident to the Opposition, where they really deserve it . Obviously where the sun don't shine .

A Dee with a Poiuyt , now Id like to see that

Seriously Im not making this stuff up :)

The club actually spoke to me about it but the problem was, even though the rest was my work, we couldn't find who owned the copyright for that demon head so it's stuck in limbo a bit...

Stuie there are ways around the copyright issue. If serious the club could employ the services of a patent/copyright firm who would solve that one way or the other i believe.

Shouldn't be a stumbling block. Where there's a will and a good law firm's hefty fee lurking, there's usually a way :)

like the demon, but why is it in essendon colours rusty?

Yeh i know mate.... it's a very dark navy blue i think. That's another reason i prefer stuie's version. The White banner also stands out against the darker background, clearly embolding the nick name... Demons.

Stuie the only problem with the logo you have submitted is that you have stolen that Demon head from another sporting club. Copyright will prevent us from using it. Why not try to do something with a demon head like the one we used in the early eighties

Which sporting club Leon?

As I said in the post in the branding thread the demon head was from a Melbourne Demons logo I found and neither myself or MFC have been able to find the creator to find out about copyright so it can be used, which is why it's in limbo.

Also, the logo was never "submitted" as it was something I made just for the sake of it and never intended to use it for anything or "submit" it to the club. They contacted me.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
