Not only you and I, but unfortunately some of the players too. My expectation is that there will be noticeable improvement in the playing list. The reality is that some wont and will disappear end of the season.

reality is though ...though that will go probably have a ticket with their name already...just not handed out quite yet

Just got back. Had to leave after two hours because of Richmond parking restrictions. The boys were still going strong at 11:30am. Roos is back!

Watts embraces Roos' message

Thanks for the reports guys. However, if Roos is back nobody told Matt Thompson and isn't the official site going into a bit of overkill on Jack Watts? Hardly a day goes by without a write up.

It has been happening for years now WJ.

Not sure why a guy still trying to prove he is an AFl player gets so much hype.

Jack i reckon the Myers Xmas windows have more reality about them than the MFC at times....all fluff and bubble stuff :)

Matt Thompson was at training on Friday at Casey. Roosy got back to training today. Watts deserves a little good publicity I would have thought. He's copped enough of a bagging to last him a lifetime the poor bugger.

Just to reiterate, Viney was burning but did not get through the session after bumping Evans half way through the session. Agree with BB on Toumpas, did everything he needed to do to be in midfield come NAB games. Same could be said for Cross, Watts, Trengove, Dunn, McDonald, Grimes, & Terlich. These guys along with the ones I mentioned in previous report are going to shape the team in pre-season games... barring injury!

What "Overkill on Jack Watts"!!!

He's the 137th best player in the league of course we're going to talk him up! :(

I think we have to give everyone a clean slate this year.

most coaches i played under ,trotted this line out.also

i will play the blokes who train the hardest

if you cant do every session, bad luck ,you wont be in senoirs

the slate is clean"i will judge you on what ive seen"

"no your not a back pocket player'

'i might surprise you and play you in the gutz"

of course we will give the players our support starting a new year DeeZee

its what we do at demonland

Watts being the 137th best player in the AFL reminded me of the song, The Ballad of Irving, by Frank Gallop...

He was short and fat, and rode out of the West

With a Mogen David on his silver vest.

He was mean and nasty right clear through,

Which was kinda weird, 'cause he was yellow too.

They called him Irving.

Big Irving.

Big, short Irving.

Big short, fat Irving.

The hundred and forty-second fastest gun in the West.

A hundred and forty-one could draw faster than he,

But Irving was looking for one forty-three. etc. etc.

Went to training again This was the third visit for me this year I know no holidays!

Was again impressed with the intensity and energy on display and the hard play simulation. It appears to me that all the competitive drills involve not just the contest and ball disposal but every time the ball winner, after kicking or hand balling, immediately runs on or back wards to defend to a plan or to make athird option in attack. This in my opinion is entirely new for the demons and I think Roos' is attempting to fix what is a very big hole in our game plan.

Another thing I have noticed is how slow Trengove still is. I know he tries to run hard, he tackles and he can take a mark but his speed is no where near fast enough. Have others noticed this and will it hamper his ability to make a significant contribution to the game?

Very excited to hear about James Strauss...he'll be okay.

Pedo will have a great year. Surprise packet.

Yes I am sure he will play well at Casey!

Sadly, Trengove has always been slow. It's a huge liability which may impact his ability to play midfield.

Funny isnt it, for a guy who's sister is a champion runner.

Which one, OD?

Both?

Straussy was playing well until that mongrel Brown kicked him in the face, and Pedo needs some self belief.

Sorry jr I was in a rush I meant Pedersen.

Why? Even if it was supposed to be in the genes, she is a marathon runner... hardly noted for their flat out speed.

From Day one I have always seen him has a half forward. I still thing that is his spot.

He has been pressed into the midfield because there was no one else.

Similarly Grimes is IMO a half back.

If both are played in those spots we will get good value from them.

I watched Trengove on the run yesterday and I think references to his slowness are exaggerated. He looks slower than he is. The key for Trengove is fitness to run freely. When he is fit he moves well. He looks fitter to me, and whilst not being a speedster, he is every bit as mobile as Daniel Cross (who ain't no speedster either!)

agreed

he is a gravedigger and im happy to have him in the team

the new list should see him in his right spot this year
