@melbournefc: AHG will have sole logo positioning on the front and back of our guernsey throughout the 2014, 2015 & 2016 AFL seasons

So SEN are wrong... Shock, I know :)

You could know me down with a feather with that news,

SEN Wrong about something... who would have guessed with the fine track record they sport.....

Yeah, I would prefer a different back of jumper sponsor OR at worst, a different AHG logo on the back. Looks a bit too amateur just having the website on there.
That being said.... it's bloody fantastic to have the sponsorship well and truly in the bag before the season starts. There is no 2012 style scrambling for sponsors after our first one gave us an offer we couldn't refuse but gave us one that was too good to be true.
Great work PJ. The man is easily the best CEO I have seen at the MFC in my nearly 25 years of supporting the club.

Sponsors smaller in number, better in quality and dollars invested. Also, PJ recognises that our sponsors need to be better serviced and supported by the MFC. Something that was sadly lacking in recent times. Agree 100% that the worth of PJ to this footy club is incalculable.

[edit] as is Glen Bartlett.

These I think you will find a a quick version 1.0 for expediency. Like the early Webjet ones ( that looked pox ) they will be refined etc before they go to mass printing...thats my thinking anyway :0

Staggering isn't it!

I know this sounds trite but for me this is the best omen of all, this portends well for us as we return to what we were and will be....the Demon spirit of old , in 'properly' coloured guernseys !! I can fathom why this was ever hard, except that the gods and planets were all agin us...Now they are with us.

Go Dees

Can we please get a leak of the dollars involved?

Anyone?

Any time the logo isn't in a box looks good to me.

If you go to the AHG website, you'll find a comprehensive search facility for a huge range of vehicles at all their Australia-wide dealerships.

You can see why they'd want to featured "ahg.com.au" prominently, regardless of how it looks.

You'd hope so, it looks like something from the Under 9s.

Now we wouldnt be Demonland if we didnt get picky about something

Now I would really like to thank AHG for coming on board, but I dont like how the back of the jumper has been done ( rushed )

Id rather the lettering was done simply as white onto the dark background of the jumper. But then again if thats all i can complain about..lol..well its a good day :)

I love the fact rumours are no longer emanating out of the club. Don't think any of us had any idea this was about to happen.

They are running a tight ship and only announce something when there is something to say. You can't run a strategy when there are leaks to the media all the time. This is a really good sign that the board and administration are working together well.

I'm still waiting for the Chinese airline to come on board.

I thought someone posted about AHG almost a week ago....

Possibly not the most appropriate thread for this, but the article I read about this (Herald) this morning about the sponsorship announcement also has a comment from Paul Roos regarding the senior assistant and that it's not out of the question that it could come from current assistants...

Along with Roos mentioning that he is giving Jade Rawlings extra responsibilities this year, I get a distinct feeling that Rawlings internally is viewed as a candidate to become the Senior Assistant / Coach after Roos.

I wouldn't be displeased by this, it allows the club to view external candidates for the rest of this year, whilst trialling Rawlings through this year, it also gives Roos more time to work with Rawlings (2-3 years) to groom him if he is the best candidate.

No ASX announcement from AHG so the amount of money can't be 'material' to them :(

Stop whinging bb we have a sponsor for the first time prior to Christmas let alone before the season starts.

Enjoy the continued good news since pj and co have arrived.

We all know it's been a bloody long time since we have had a run like this.

Chin up old chap

They said it's within their existing budget, so no new money required by them.

Great news.

But I'm a bit confused about who AHG is targeting. Does anyone buy a car by looking for a dealer who happens to be a member of their group? Don't most people look at a few models and go to the nearest appropriate dealers and see who gives the best deal? Also, customers will see the finance business through the dealers. Would they go to a dealer because they specifically want AHG finance?

So what exactly is AHG mass-marketing? Are they planning to push the centralised service-booking service perhaps?

I'm sure they know or they wouldn't be throwing money our way. Any marketing-gurus like to explain?

I heard that the $$$ are coming directly from their marketing budget which is great cause it means they r not overspending on top of their budget.

It also means they had money to burn for marketing and they choose us. That says a lot considering how we have been travelling over the last 7 years.

Great news.

got me intrigued as well... but care factor ? lol

They must see it as positioning of some description.

I'm sure someone on demonland will find a negative from today's announcement

Maybe not before but now they will have their name out there and if anyone wants a particular vehicle they can look up their site for the nearest dealer.

They are also involved in Logistics and Refrigerated Transport so they probably want to push this as well; they would be competing against companies like Toll and Linfox and Refrigerated Transport between WA and the Eastern States is a lucrative market.

Great news.

Think bigger than just individuals, sue.

There are large companies forking out big dollars to organisations like AHG to deliver and maintain a total fleet service. The company I work for for instance has hundreds of vehicles purchased and leased through AHG.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
