A foot stress fracture last December rocked the second half of his pre-season and he appeared to lack confidence for a time on return. However, the co-captain fought back to play some good football and all but two matches in 2013 and finished eighth in the B & F. The elephant in the room for Trengove was the cloud cast by the association of Dank with the former club doctor who was treating him before the start of the season for his foot injury. That situation remains unresolved.

I think it looks ominous for JT in 2014.

A holiday looks possible!

Not probable though.

Trengove needs rebooting. Still has all the tools to be an outstanding player. Make it happen Roosy.

I understood the cream was an approved product so unlikely any problems.

I hope he can get his pace back over summer, that is the thing missing from his game and will result in 5+ extra possies each week being first to the contest. Also I think the defence focus over the last two years will be a good learning experience, and that he can keep that up bit add back the attacking side of his game.

Roos said in his article he thinks he can be a star. Will be great to see what type of effect the new coach has on him.

I haven't heard that and I hope it's the case because if what he applied to his foot contained AOD9604 then he's at the mercy of the ASADA which is bound to apply the strict liability of the WADA Code. In those circumstances it's somewhere between 11 games and two seasons.

All depends on the facts and whether mitigating circumstances apply.

Let us hope he gets through the AOD cream issue and that there aren't more players involved. But can we get to the bottom of his lack of speed and acceleration? We have never heard anything from the club apart from his foot problem which should not impact your acceleration. How do you loose speed at his age? If he gets that back we have a player.

WJ you may be correct. I know it is sold over the counter at department stores as a cream and therefore I assumed it must have the approval by a therapeutic goods authority as a cream which may move it out of S2.

This article gives more info but does not confirm my above statement exactly:

Thanks for providing the link deanox. The problem is that there's been a great deal of confusion about the status in the media and about what advice (if any) Dank and others received from ASADA about AOD9604. So far I haven't seen any evidence that would assist players who took it and I don't know what Jack was supposed to have taken. We'll have to wait until ASADA reports on our club to find out but until that time comes, I'm not prepared to rule out anything.

One thing I've learned about how ASADA and WADA operate is that they don't do back room deals like many others do and they don't leak out information to favourites in the media as happens elsewhere. In particular, WADA and some of the other authorities operating in this sphere don't worry too much about tall poppies and there are a few about that will soon find out (not talking MFC there).

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
