Who would you prefer? Martin, Swallow, Adams, Aish or someone else?

Swallow or Adams

Definitely not Aish - we need to face it - we can't develop players (name one high draft pick we have developed successfully).

I know development might be better under Roos but still we should get some young semi developed players like Swallow and Adams (then by the end of 2014 we will have a decent culture to develop players in)

if we talk to both, & to both club dangling Pick 2 in front of them, they may both chase it.

Lets see what comes in the way of offers from GWS & GCSuns, & then make our choice?

Paul Roos and George Stone may be the most respected development team in recent times, so I'd be thinking they could get it right again.

I've got to admit, my main thought is always about price, getting value for picks and cash, because we need to accumulate quite a few players.

I'm a flat no on Dustin Martin, is my only clear point. Now that I've said thatm he's probably who we'll get. Meh.

Let's be clear I'm not seeing these three as 'our new champions' but I do think they could be value if they are interested in moving. All have good defensive work ethics and lay plenty of tackles, and can play through the midfield.

Pick 2 to GWS for Adams and Buntine would work for me, for instance.

Or Pick 2 for Docherty and Pick 7 from Brisbane, remembering that pick 7 almost always turns out to be an excellent midfielder.

I am also in favour of Swallow (pick 2?) if we can pull it off. I am also keen if we can entice Cross for the next two years while Viney, Trengove and Toumpas reach their full potential. With a few other additions over the draft/trade periods and with the nucleus of a good back line and forward line already in place we should be able to give it a good shake next year!

If we traded for Sloane, do the Crows have suspended picks they can trade, or are their picks stripped from them?

I think we need to trade for a mature player + a top pick, (Lions-7,, or Crows-8 ?) if we are to get Crouch.

What do we have that the Lions Need, to get their P7, & who do we want from them, that will be instant longterm Help to us, from their players who want out?

Judging by the growing string of Clubs publicly declaring themselves not interested in Martin and the stand-off between his knucklehead manager and RFC, maybe we should rethink conjuring up a deal. If we thought of a fair package for him, maybe we can convince him to nominate for the pre-season draft, where we will be in pole-position to snap him up (especially in the light of GWS's official statement that they are not interested). Injecting him into our midfield without needing to trade or use a first-round draft pick has immense appeal. I am sure that Roos could devise a management plan to overcome any possible cultural differences between him and the rest of the list.
