If he shows desperation, hardness at the ball and a will to be the best he can be then I think we should definitely look at him. Too many high draft picks are there on talent alone and people forget the single most important characteristic required, determination. I would rather us draft the most determined players ahead of the most talented.

Although I'm more trusting of the recruiting team this time around, don't get sucked in too much with someone like Crouch. Every bio I've read on him says he needs work on his kicking and our side has plenty of players who can't kick.

I understand he is a contested king, but we need players with strengths in many areas of their game. It's not all about contested ball winners.

If it was, Couch and Magner would be getting a game every week for us.

Mark my words, this kid will be the best player of this draft next year, and after that, he is a clearance machine and loves the hard stuff, it probably goes against best available talent, but if we don't really consider pulling the trigger early on this kid we have made a serious mistake, would take him ahead of Aish in a heartbeat.

I think if it comes to a choice we will take Aish or Sheed but if we were to trade Jack watts and get pick 10 or something like that, Crouch should be right on the radar.

personally i'd be happy with Crouch at 2 but that's just me.

Yeah Crouch seems like a ripper. I always find the hype around certain players quite interesting, in this years class of midfielders it's Aish.

People get so caught up with their preconceived notions or the media hype, they often fail to judge a player properly.

Such people will get easily excited by seeing a kick executed in slow motion, and judge him by selective statistics.

Now I'm not bagging Aish - I think he's a brilliant player, I just consider Aish, Sheed, and Crouch much closer than many others would.

Crouch was better in the contested clearances though.

Couldn't have him before Dom based on the Champs alone, Sheed really made an example of the whole Vic Country side.

I don't mind Crouch as a player and he has performed very well of late in the TAC.

But, I could not have Crouch above Sheed or Aish, but even still I've heard reports Matt is better than Brad - and I'd gladly give Adelaide our pick 2 for Brad.

So, if we do pull the trigger, I won't whinge a bit.

Probably rate him 6-12.

I like Dumont as a late pick and feel he fills a need as an inside midfielder.

I feel we will take Aish, the generally consensus seems to be that Aish falls at 2.

My thoughts on AIsh is that he is outside - and he certainly looks very outside in the SANFL, but people say he does play both.

So, whether he is just getting through the year given his shoulder, it's understandable and Aish is still getting in the bests in the SANFL.

I'm not against trading both our first picks - assuming we get a PP, I am happy to trade both.

Our forward line will improve ten fold with Clark, fit Dawes, Jesse Hogan, possibly even Jurrah - I'd back us to take him if Roos is coach.

We should chase some established mids, definitely look to trade a PP if we get one, we need results.

Oliver Wines stood our so far that it wasn't funny, Matt Crouch hasn't.

Toumpas cherry picked off half back whilst Wines was a beast and tackled like a maniac - that is why people whinge.

I'm not against Matt Crouch and I think he would fit well in our side, but Dustin Martin and Ollie Wines really stood out in the champs, like beacons.

Crouch didn't... The champs and senior football are a more accurate representation of AFL than TAC cup. Crouch is going well in the TAC - but don't jack off over that.

yeah, i think wines will come back to us at some point tbh, but i love the way crouch attacks the ball, dunstan, durmont and sheed are good too id love to get two of the above, if we can get pick 11 for watts id use that on crouch, 2 on sheed and 21 on durmont or dunstan

There is plenty of AFL stars that did not excel in u/18 champs. Patrick Dangerfield was so /so in his year. Crouch was coming back after injury. HE WILL BE A STAR. DO NOT DISMISS. Crouch is top 5-6 in my draft estimates the equal of Sheed.

Not really accurate assessment. Crouch is a lot shorter and lighter than Wines. Cripps is this years Wines.

Hoping we can manufacture a trade with Watts or something else that'll get us another first round pick in the 8-12 mark. Crouch would be ideal with a pick around that.
