My patience with Howe is running very, very low. Have kept my eye on him the whole game - refuses to run, shepherd, and basically put in full stop.

We're blinded with his ability to mark. Apart from that what else does he do?

Nothing

His pressure is worse than Watts

We are 5 goals down. If Howe kicked those two that is 3 goals. Umpiring has got them at least 4 goals either directly from free kicks that weren't there or from an inside 50 resulting from a free kick that wasn't there.

We aren't playing well enough to be in the game but we should be based on those numbers.

Bog challenge for the boys in the second half: hold out together and dint get blown away.

Also fingers crossed for Viney getting to 30 touches. Might be our first player this year to do so!

Calling it right now - Jack Viney will never be 'Melbourned'.

Kid is a gun. His attack on the ball is Selwood-like.

Makes Selwood look like a sissy!

I am the game today taking great pleasure out of the fact at least a 6-12 of these useless bastards won't be wearing red and blue in our first home game in 2014.

Byrnes being one definitely

He is being played out of position, for those who thought he should be deep forward now you see why he shouldn't.

He needs space to move around and up the ground, high hf to wing.

Trade him to north for Levi Greenwood - 38 touches yesterday.

Don't think it's been mentioned, but Jordie is killing Fyfe

Good effort and contested work that qtr. Viney, Spencer and Dunn all excellent with some good play from Silvia and Kent.

Well said - Jack represents everything Melbourne should stand for.

Shannon Bynes FFS!! Was he a good goal kick at Geelong?

They called him the leprechaun for a good reason!

He waits at the end of the rainbow (goal square) for a pot of gold (ball) to fall into his hands.

Anywhere else and he is stumped!

Has anyone else at the game noticed Sylvia going off at Watts..... I've seen 3 separate occasions where jack should have passed to Sylvia and chose otherwise. Col was pretty demonstrative on each occasion!

Sylvia is maybe seeing a bit of his old self in Watts and is trying to fire him up?

As for Sylvia - I think he is the most unfairly treated player on demonland. Has been very consistent this year!

Agree entirely although Dunn would be up there with unfairly treated players

And Col's never done anything like that himself?

Any chance we can do a Frankenstein and transplant the skills/finish side of Watt's brain into Col's bod?

Sylvia is an amazing kick!

Terlich is far too loose, Balantyne is all over him. Can't kick....or find a target....not up to AFL standard .

Give him a break. Its his first year.

Veteran Demonland Trackwatchers Kev Martin, Slartibartfast & Demon Wheels were on hand at Gosch's Paddock to kick off the official first training session for the 1st to 4th year players with a few elder statesmen in attendance as well. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning. Joy all round, they look like they want to be there.  21 in the squad. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
