Bad Times Grimes.

Interesting to look at who's getting most of the footy to date:

N Jones

Viney

Pedersen

M Jones

Clisby

Byrnes

Trengove

Grimes

Kent

Terlich

Says something about Howe, Dunn, Sylvia and Watts, who are supposed to be leaders!

There we go. That's the difference between Trengove and Grimes. Grimes cannot kick a football. One kicks a captain's goal, the other misses without any pressure.

It's quite sad how some of the supporters on here are blaming the umpires. The umps are the people who have kept this from a thrashing, not the players.

Agreed. This is the first game this year I would say the umpires have favoured us over the opposition. We're lucky we're not further down with the lack of pressure applied today. How the hell we were more than 10 tackles less than GWS when they had a stack more ball is an indictment on the playing group not trying or working hard enough. Pathetic.

Grimes....

Get [censored]

Grimes turnover. The perfect symbolic ending to this game.

I'm sticking to my guns here. Trengove's been good. Get off his back.

And who turns it over to give Cameron the sealer? That heart and soul player in Grimes. The question must be asked. What does Grimes offer us?

Grimes is a joke certainly not a captain

Grimes kicks it straight over the head of Jones on His own to Cameron who kicks a goal from outside 50. Yes people we are that bad, really we are.

It's such a shame that I look forward to watching football each week. Its one of the only things I enjoy doing. And this team of [censored] heads just fluff about. How about working hard for one? Jesus [censored] Christ. The players should practice running all preseason. Oh thats right, you did.wouldn't [censored] know it the way you play.

Dunn. Can you please just [censored] off?

Seriously. Make an impact on the game or [censored] off.

Where is Jackie boy? havent seen him Oh yes he is trying to impress other teams recruiters isnt he?

Leading our B+F before getting his shoulder torn off. He has been a shadow of his former self since coming back, but with another pre-season he'll be back to his best.

Can't do this anymore.

Thanks for genuinely draining me emotionally and mentally. I'm out.

It's sad to see Jack Grimes like this. He showed real promise a while back, but he is playing at a VFL level this year. I know he's had injuries, but he's mid way through his career now and he's still not what he should be and is going backwards at a rapid rate. Really sad to see for someone who was so passionate about the club.

Nathan Jones should demand a transfer. He like the members, doesn't deserve to put up with this rubbish any longer

I thought we recruited Toumpas because he had good disposal...hahahahahaha!

classic demonland attacking the character of the players, look at jack watts? he should be a leader

And Taggert can't get a game.

another culling at the end of the year??

can think of a few to go.

Just dont understand how they tolerate being this bad.

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
