had one kick since coming on midway through the third. I can't get over how skinny he is. looks miles off the pace, as you'd expect in a derby - frenetic game.

His 4kg of added muscle as per HS not quite living up to expectation?

He actually ate 4 kilos of mussels, thinking they were like oysters and help him gain some testosterone. Easily confused with muscles

Well he had two possesions. Not surprising

i watched the 2nbd half and totally forgot he was even picked to play as i did not see him once or hear his name

Great performance - 2 ineffective kicks 1 almast tackle. Plenty of hovering. One high five to Darling after one of his five goals

Done a couple of good things. Still as skinny as ever.

Are you suggesting that someone has edited this photo?

I think it's just because he doesn't take up much room on the bench so it's extra comfy for the other players.

As opposed to Beamer whose barge arrse takes up more space than warrants his selection, hey Stuie.

I gather he is Man of the Match based on that!!

He was terrible. Two kicks in 40 mins of play.

You have to question why these high ranking draft picks that come to mfc just don't develop into the stars like other clubs do .i.e gaff, masten, fyfe, hill

We could have had Masten ahead of Cale from memory-oh the injustice of it all.

Don't worry - we would still have Melbournised Masten into mediocrity.

i think you mean 'mediocrity at best'

Early on it was thought the eagles made a mistake taking Masten, as he struggled early in his career, while Morton was doing well from day one. Oh how things changed.

Speaking of ex dee rejects now playing in W.A....

"West Coast rookie Jamie Bennell was the standout AFL-listed player in the WAFL on Saturday, leading Swan Districts to a 39-point win over Claremont. Bennell had 23 possessions against the Tigers as he continues his recovery from the knee reconstruction that ended his 57-game career at Melbourne."

Masten, Morton, Myers, Palmer all dominated for WA in their under 18 year.

Come to AFL and Palmer looks like a star in his first season, Morton looks like a tall outside midfielder who can link up well and the other two look like spuds.

Fast forward a few years and the 2 who started slowly are the best and the 2 others have new homes.

His knee reco didn't end his career with us. In fact it probably nearly saved it as it's poor form in the AFL community to delist a guy off a knee generally.

But I have more hope for him than Morton. When he started he was a dashing half back flanker capable of beating decent small flankers and then using the ball really cleverly.

Did any else label him the next Andrew Mcleod or was that just me? Problem was poor Jamie seem to get worse and more timid every year!

Palmers change in clubs was far different to why Morton changed.

It appears that way but I'd argue it wasn't.

He was already starting to head backwards at Freo. Sure he wasn't at the stage to get delisted but he took the cash because his Freo career wasn't heading to the heights he imagined.

In all honestly I would enjoy seeing him play some good consistent football however he just doesn't have it in him. He's still built like a string bean and scared of a contest. He plays for East Perth who is my local team and I watch a lot of their games. I really don't know how he got selected

I was at the East Freo game the other week in the feral section and he seemed to be the whipping boy!

Yes it's just an MFC thing FFS, Muston, Dowler, Thorp, Egan, Tambling, Laycock, Tenace, Trotter, Riley Dunn, Fergus Watts, Danny Meyer, Vezpremi, Oakley-Nicholls the list goes on but no keep thinking we are the only club who does this

Old Dee will be pleased.

He wasn't on his way to being delisted though
