The valid issues you raise about the midfield are issues through out the team. Royal implements the game plan of Neeld based on the players on the list determined by Neeld and trained to the specifications of Neeld/Misson. And I have already explained the issue why the disposition and accountabilities of Royal is different to Neeld. You should send your beef to Mark Neeld. After being the midfield maestro at the Pies he could benefit from your insights.

Will somebody mention the elephant in the room.... Leigh Brown. I've watched this talentless guy sprint on and off the field at each quarter time break, and its like he can't wait to get out of the public eye. Our forward structures are terrible, proven goal kickers are demoralised (Watts down back, Davey on the outer, Petterd gone), and guys that were once great backmen are played out of position as though someone is trying to re-invent the wheel (Garland, Rivers). At a basic level players need to respect their coaches. Do any supporters really think that Neeld-Royal-Rawlings-Brown have the playing group believing they have a successful game plan to implement?

I think it's possible that Brown deserves some praise actually. Aren't we number one in the league for converting inside 50's into scores?

We just don't get enough inside 50's thanks to the midfield.

- inside 50s: avg 43 per game (ranked 18th)

Forwards:

- goals: avg 11 per game (ranked 16th)

- marks inside 50: avg 9 per game (ranked 16th)

- goal accuracy: 52% (ranked 9th)

Team:

- wins under Neeld: 5 (win rate 18%)

- tackles: avg 59 per game (ranked 12th)

- percentage: 56.10% (ranked 18th)

Okay so I've bolded the one that can be attributed directly to Brown and ninth in the league isn't a bad result.

Goals per game does not reflect on Brown only - that is the entire team and in particular the midfield. How are we supposed to kick goals when we can't even get the ball there? It's pretty simple.
