nice change for it to be so hard to fit 14 into 6

So nice to have a win. Took a 3yr old to his first game and he loved it, his older brother did also....and a kick on the G. Fair to say they love Howie!

6. Grimes.....really like his emerging leadership. Hope and trenners were good when needed today, great last qtrs.

5. Byrnes......well done.....still got it at AFL level

4. Howe.......enough said

3. Nat Jones......great to see him off the leash today

2. Frawley......setanta got away from T Mac but Cameron got smashed by an AA Full back today.....gave him nothing chip, welcome back

1. Evans......didn't really notice him until the last but it was spectacular.

Loved big Maxys game also, and trenners. garlands last qtr was awesome. Terlich showed he is an AFL find.

Go on with it next week boys

1 Evans

Big nod to Gawn, Jamar, Howe and Byrnes. Could easily have had any of them in the top six.

6 Grimes - Lead from the front, 29 disposals, Disposal efficiency 79%, 5 clearances, 7 tackles. Champion.

5 Byrnes - 23 Disposals, Disposal efficiency 78%, 3 goals, 3 clearances. I have to say i doubted him as a trade, but I've never been so glad to be wrong.

4 Jones - Always know what you are going to get from him. Legend. 28 disposals, 3 tackles. Disposal efficiency 68%, missed some shots at goal - otherwise would have been higher.

3 Howe - 4 goals, 7 marks -4 of them contested. Excitement machine and not just a Robbo-clone (no disrespect to Robbo).

2 Trengove - 10 tackles and 22 Disposals to boot. need I say more?

1 Evans - Lot of hard running, 20 Disposals, 7 marks 3 goals.

Biggest positives of the day:

- Unlike Jamar, Gawn looks very good around the ground with regards to contested possessions, agility, disposal efficiency

- Evans

- Terlich fought hard all day

- Frawley regaining some form

- Byrnes stepping up

- Pederson played a role

4. C Sylvia

3. C Garland

2. J Grimes (would have been higher but still butchered the ball by foot too often)

1. M Evans

And the best game I've seen to date from Jetta. Pity he may miss next week (or more) courtesy MRP.

i still don't understand why we are not permitted to know what the individual result of each week is. Obviously whoever posts the PROGRESS VOTING table has just worked this out, why do they not post it?

6 - N Jones

5 - Byrnes

4 - Grimes

3 - Evans

2 - Howe

1 - Gawn

6 - Jones - A marvellous example to the rest of the team, champion effort by him in and under.

5 - Sylvia - Equal 6th for Inside 50s in the comp is pretty amazing given how much we've sucked, played a pearler yesterday and was inspirational in the last qtr.

4 - Grimes - Led the way all day, even when others were dropping their heads.

3 - Garland - Best quarter he's played for MFC in the 4th. Just wouldn't allow us to lose. Not on his watch.

2 - Trengrove - Played like a captain for one of the few times in his short career. Immensely encouraging.

1 - Howe - Electrified the MCG and was the cream in the last quarter.

Honourable mentions to Pickles and Byrnes (who were both superb), Gawny and Terlich.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
