Yes, and the president delegates, that's what the job mainly is, they don't know what every employee is up to 24 hours a day.

Oh look, here comes Don now...

Stuie in Politics there used to be a thing called Ministerial Responsibility, which effectively meant that if anyone in Minister's department stuffed up, the Minister accepted responsibility and generally stepped down. Standards are a lot looser now and most Ministers just tough their way out and accept no responsibility; I liked it the old way when they had a good reason to ensure their department operated smoothly.

There have just been to many stuff ups, it can't be a coincidence that we have effed up so much, someone has to wear the blame, the ship is sinking and will go to the bottom unless we do something, and soon. I like Don, and the other members of the board seem ok too, but even they must know that it's becoming untenable for them to stay; they just don't seem to be able to run the show.

Redleg if the current Board / Management of the MFC told me it was night time I would go outside and have a look.

You'd have to get the nurse to unlock your room first...

I'm not saying they should stay, but let's not be so quick to eat our own, wait til end of season and let's see who else puts their hand up.

What's everyone arguing about?

The Dr has been stood down and will not return as it seems he wasn't upfront with everything.

DM will stand aside and Freeman will take over ( this is why he has joined the board)

The titanic is slowly turning around.

Wish you had used another ship DemonOX

Did it not go to the bottom in a rather sad way?

So if Dank had contact with the players then you believe the board still wouldn't know about Dank? Not one player would have asked Don or Schwab about Dank?

"The Club’s protocol and governance in relation to all treatment of players is that only the Club Doctor can prescribe and approve treatment to players. This system meant that at no time was Dank able to directly treat players"

Yes, no other AFL clubs ever have any type of trouble, just us, bloody Don hey....

The only club that was in worse condition than us stuie was Fitzroy.

Remember them

I wonder which is actually more likely...

a. Don is actually Santa and knows everything

or

b. Bates was the ONLY person at the club who knew Dank was working with us

Um, actually, they're both really stupid positions.

So the club (read McLardy, Schwab and the FD) tell the AFL the truth as they know it and as it turns out it was the Doc who was hiding his communications. The board nor the football department never "lied" to the AFL at all.

Just like Eddie going in to bat for Didak and Shaw and then finding our they didn't give him the whole truth.

So my question is to u RobbieF....

You are so quick to Jump to conclusions, brow beat and label others FW's claiming they have no idea when all they said was try would wait for more facts to appear before they pass judgement and guess what, you went off half cocked as we're made to look like a fool again.

There are some serious issues with the administration which may well have been rectified to some degree with the Schwab axing however you labelled the board as out and out liers and deceitful when in fact they weren't.

Once again you have proven why YAAFW.....

The buck stops with the board, they hired him, they are responsible for him, but that little fact escapes you, doesn't it you FI.

How much more can members/supporters take?

We donate 5 mill to clear debt!

Put up with appauling performances!

Watch our early draft picks either leave the club or get delisted!

Watch our senior players shown no respect!

Listen to our coach drawing positives from a 94 point loss!

You be the Judge!

It's fun supporting the Dees isn't it???

Riiiiiiiight.... So now it's McLardy's fault that the Dr went behind his back... This is the most unreasonable lynch mob I've come across, and that's saying something seeing I've been around 'Land for a few years.

Couldn't agree more Stuie. Satyriconhome and I have been trying to stop a hanging all day.

One poster even called me a "lawyer using weasely words" because I advocated waiting until all the facts were known.

I bet you wished you had supported them hey OD. Just imagine, a whole life of getting to complain...

"We have sufficient concerns about an identified breakdown in reporting protocols that we believe it is appropriate that Dr Bates stands aside until these matters are further investigated," McLardy said.

If that's the case then how can they say with confidence that;

Every supplement included in the Club’s supplement regime is approved by the Club Doctor and is in accordance with all ASADA and WADA guidelines

the fact that the football department didn't know what the doctor was doing is a major concern. the issue of whether or not dank met anyone else other than the doctor is a question that must be answered

what contact did he have with the players?

communication through all levels of the club is unfathomable that it could be so...non-existent.

the whole place needs gutting.

through this we must hope for rebirth.

ultimately, we are the club who invented the game. does the afl have a duty to protect us (from ourselves)?

Can you name another club in worse condition that the MFC over the last 30 years?

Speaking of FI's when are you gong to resurrect your Drafting/Recruiting thread again; give us all the wisdom of your vast knowledge on our fortunes at the drafting table.

Still reckon I'm wrong and that we've recruited well in the last ten years.

BTW there are plenty on this thread that agree with my position so do you want to refer your comments to them as well?

I don't know about you mate, but I'm not blindly supporting the board, if they've messed up they WILL pay, but I'm sick and tired of being dictated to by the media and then, rather than standing up for MFC til we know the whole story, Demonland goes into meltdown mode calling for sackings...

Now you're being silly.

If the corporation fails then he will get fired, Schwab wasn't fired because he forgot to buy stationary, there were obviously other maters that led to is downfall.

Ok, you've clearly made your point here.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
